    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress exhaustion state of a battery which is a power supply to the utmost, while ensuring necessary sensitivity in a flowmeter using a flow sensor to measure the flow rate of gas. SOLUTION: In the flowmeter equipped with the flow sensor 3, generating the electromotive force of voltage corresponding to the power consumed by the heater 34, arranged in a fluid flow channel 17 and the flow velocity of a fluid in thermopiles 32, 33, a power supply means A for intermittently supplying power to the heater 34 and a flow velocity measuring means 13A for measuring the flow velocity of the fluid, on the basis of power supplied at each time when power is supplied to the heater 34 and the voltage generated in the thermopiles 32, 33 and operated by a battery which is a power supply to measure the flow rate of the fluid based on the flow velocity measured by the flow velocity measuring means 13A, the power supply means A supplies prescribed power to the heater 34, when the flow velocity measuring means 13 measures flow velocity exceeding prescribed flow velocity V0 and supplies power of less than the prescribed power to the heater 34, when the flow velocity measuring means 13A measures flow velocity below the prescribed flow velocity V0.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flow-rate measuring apparatus such as a gas meter by which, even when pulsations are generated in a gas flow, it is eliminated that an error caused by them is generated in a measured value, by which the flow rate of a gas can be always measured precisely, in which a means used to eliminate the error can be executed without relying on a high-cost mirocomputer dealing with a high-speed/large-capacity processing operation and which can reduce a power consumption as a whole. SOLUTION: Main parts of the flow-rate measuring apparatus are constituted of ultrasonic oscillators/receivers 2a, 2b which propagate ultrasonic waves to the gas flow passing a continuity passage 1. The main parts are constituted of a gas-flow-rate measuring and control circuit 3 which controls the ultrasonic oscillators/receivers 2a, 2b so as to be driven. The main parts are constituted of a gas-flow-rate computing circuit 4 which computes and proceses signals detected by the ultrasonic oscillators/receivers 2a, 2b so as to integrate the flow rate of the gas. When the flow rate of the gas is less than a prescribed flow rate Qth, a sampling cycle Tef is set at a nonconstant cycle.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a gas meter under test from being interrupted intentionally by a third person by executing the interrupting operation of an interrupting valve only when a specified pulse field is supplied a specified number of times and a reed switch is conducted by a specified number of times. SOLUTION: A gas meter is set using a meter setter 34 comprising an electromagnet 32 and a light receiving switch 33 comprising a light receiving element. Test interruption is executed when a meter is fixed to a site and gas is supplied to a consumer. A worker generates a specified magnetic field utilizing a magnet 32 to conduct a reed switch 26 and delivers a test interruption signal to a microcomputer 24 thus closing an interrupting valve 16 while checking the function with a response signal of a LED switch 28 from a computer 24. A pulse field is supplied by a specified number of times to the reed switch 26 and test interruption is enabled only when the switch 26 is conducted by a specified number of times. The interrupting valve 16 is not closed by normal operation.
