    • The present invention provides a method and a computer system for sharing a graphics card among multiple Operation Systems (OSs). The method includes: detecting a first GOS to be displayed, the first GOS being a primary GOS or one of at least one secondary GOS; determining the kind of the first GOS, so that different display control register bank(s) and graphics card memory resources are allocated to the first GOS depending on whether it is a primary GOS or a secondary GOS; controlling the display control register bank(s) allocated to the first GOS to connect to a display output port; obtaining display contents based on the graphics card memory resources allocated to the first GOS; and displaying the display contents based on display mode parameters in the display control register bank(s) connected to the display output port. According to the present invention, it is possible to share the graphics card among the multiple OSs without modifying the drivers of the primary GOS.

    • A virtual tuner is described. In an implementation, a method includes outputting an Electronic Programming Guide (EPG) for display by a client. The EPG includes a plurality of representations of a plurality of content. At least one of the content is television programming for receipt by the client over an Internet. The client includes a plurality of applications. One or more of the content is provided for output by a respective one of the applications. The EPG is configured to form one or more events in response to user interaction with one or more said representations. A virtual tuner is executed on the client to manage execution of each of the applications to provide respective content in response to the events formed utilizing the EPG.

    • A method for monitoring the managed devices comprises that the manage center preserves the integrality list in advance, which includes the system integrality values of the managed devices and the corresponding relations of the managed devices and the system integrality values of themselves, and the managed device gathers the current system integrality value of itself and saves it when it starts; the managed device sends the information including the current system integrality value to the manage center after receiving the monitor command from the manage center; the manage center determines whether the received current system integrality value of the managed device coincides with the integrality value of the managed device saved by itself according to the received information and said integrality list, and implements the alert process when they do not coincide with each other. The manage center can know whether the managed device is believable currently so that the manage center can determine whether the unknown attack to the managed device exists or not according to the present invention.

    • Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, implementing and using techniques for resolving a hang condition in a distributed environment including a client computer and server computer(s). A network thread is provided, which passes requests from the client computer to the one or more server computers and responses from the server computers to the client computer. Worker thread(s) are provided on the server computers. The worker threads receive requests from the network thread, execute the requests, and pass responses to the requests back to the network thread. A request is sent from the client computer to a server computer through the network thread. A timer associated with the request is started on the client computer. The timer specifies a pre-defined time period for receiving a response to the request. When no response has been received within the pre-defined time period, a reset request is sent to the server computer.
