    • PURPOSE:To make possible the thorough transfer of the toner image on a photo sensitive body by superposing the toner image formed on the photosensitive body by an electrophotographic method and a transfer base having a layer consisting of a thermosetting resin and subjecting the same to thermocompres sion bonding then stripping the transfer base. CONSTITUTION:Any photosensitive body 1 is usable as far as said body is an ordinary electrophotographic sensitive body. The toner image 6 is formed on the surface of the photosensitive body 1 by the ordinary electrophotographic process. The developing method may be either dry process developing or wet process developing. The transfer base 8 provided with the thermosetting resin layer 7 is then superposed thereon and is subjected to thermocompression bonding. The base 8 which is held superposed on the body 1 is allowed to cool in this state and thereafter the base 8 is stripped from the body 1, by which the toner image 6 is transferred thereto.

    • It is sought to enable a toner image on the peripheral surface of a transfer roller to be well transferred onto a medium even if the latter is high in insulating property. In an electrophotographic apparatus in which a toner image formed on a peripheral surface of a photoconductor drum is transferred onto a peripheral surface of a transfer roller whereafter onto a medium passing through a nip portion between the transfer roller and a backup roller to which electric potentials of a polarity opposite to that of the toner image formed on the photoconductor drum are applied, the toner image on the peripheral surface of the transfer roller is transferred under a nip pressure between the transfer and backup rollers and under a potential difference, between these two rollers, of polarity opposite to that of the toner image, there is provided a medium charging charger is disposed at a position which is adjacent to a medium traveling path passing through the nip portion between the transfer roller and the backup roller and which is immediately upstream of the said nip portion for applying contactlessly to a surface, on the side of the transfer roller, of the medium traveling along the medium traveling path, a voltage which is of the polarity same as that of voltages applied to the transfer and backup rollers and which is of an absolute value larger than that of the voltage applied to the transfer roller and equal to or less than that of the voltage applied to the backup roller.
