    • The Siding Revealer Gauge is a lightweight tool that when used properly will repeatedly give exactly the same measurement between layers of siding boards, shingles, and other flat materials installed in an overlapping fashion. Said lightweight tool also allows said overlapping flat materials to be installed much faster then with any tools already existing in the art of hanging said overlapping flat materials. The Siding Revealer Gauge has a handle attached to a back surface, a level top surface, and a ledge protruding from a front surface. The ledge protruding from the front surface of the gauge is placed against the butt of an installed piece of said material. The front face of the gauge should be held firmly against said flat material. The butt of the next layer of flat material should be laid across the top surface of the gauge. The top surface of the gauge is of sufficient length and width to allow the butt of the next layer of material being worked with to be held firmly against said top surface without unreasonable wobbling. Once the new piece of material has been secured in place the process is repeated across the row of material and upwards creating new rows as needed.

    • A generally rectangular block has a front end forming a first edge stop for engaging an edge of a shingle to position it in a subsequent course of roofing shingles prior to nailing. A recess in the bottom face has a second edge stop spaced from the first edge stop by a length L1, the amount equal to a preferred amount of a first course of roofing shingles exposed below a subsequent course. A protruding flange extends outwardly from the front end and preferably tapers providing a resting surface to enable easy manipulation of the loose end of the shingle without unduly distorting the shingle.

    • The present invention relates to a roofing tape which allows roofers to determine and consistently apply the proper reveal space of shingles on any roof without measurement. A roofing tape includes a start indicator, a first line indicator, and a plurality of series of indicia on its front surface. The first line indicator is located at a distance from the start indicator equal to the height of the roofing shingles less the overhang requirement of the roofing shingles. Each series of indicia is arranged longitudinally along the roofing tape. Each series of indicia has equal intervals between the first line indicator and the first indicator in the series and between consecutive indicia in the series. The intervals in each series correspond to a spacing within the reveal space tolerance range of the roofing shingles. The roofing tape preferably includes eave adjustment eave adjustment hash marks so that the tape may be adjusted downward to cover all the areas along an irregular eave. The roofing tape preferably includes an applicator which helps extend the tape along the roof, aids in selecting the appropriate indicia for the particular roof, and indicates the line where the bottom of the last course of shingles should be laid. The present invention eliminates the need for a roofer to perform measurements and trial and error calculations in determining the correct reveal space for a roof, eliminates the possibility for creep, and facilitates the installation of shingles on uneven and intersecting roofs and roofs with other irregularities.

    • A mechanized roof shingle laying system has a plurality of lateral supports which are attached to a roof. Desirably, a plurality of horizontal track sections span the entire roof and engage alignment tabs on the lateral supports. A carriage, ridden by an operator, is movable along the horizontal track sections. Shingles carried by the carriage are laid on the roof along a lip guide of the horizontal track sections and produce an accurate alignment of the shingles. When a row of shingles has been laid in alignment upon the roof and fastened thereto, the horizontal track supports are moved to an adjacently spaced alignment tab of the lateral supports so that another row of shingles can be positioned on the roof. The system provides a high production rate with consistently good accurate alignment of the shingles.
