Des ajutages (15) de pompes à jet d'eau aspirent la terre du fond de la tranchée au travers des orifices d'admission orientés vers l'avant (11), à proximité du fond du traîneau, de deux tuyaux d'extraction (10) portés par les boucles (2) sur les côtés opposés du pipeline, et la déchargent au travers d'orifices de sortie de décharge (14) dirigés respectivement latéralement vers l'extérieur et principalement vers l'arrière du traîneau. La décharge d'eau et de terre produit une réaction qui propulse le traîneau vers l'avant.

    • PURPOSE:To avoid the incongruity of the excavating speed and the towing speed by a method in which a trench is excavated by a plow while jetting water jet stream from an excavating nozzle provided in the bottom of the upper stage plow toward the front of the lower plow. CONSTITUTION:A plow 8 attached to the center of sleighs 7a and 7b is shaped into a box form, the tip of a plow 9 consisting of plural steps 9a, 9b, and 9c, set in the plow 8, is shaped into an acute angle form, and the bottom of the plow 9 is shaped into a horizontal form. The length of the plow 9 is set up such that water jet streams 12a and 12b from jet nozzles 11a and 11b provided inside are jetted to the right front of the plow blades 9a and 9c below one step, and the bottoms 10a and 10b of the upper stage plow blade are formed to be leveled with the upsides 13a and 13c of the basal base of the plow 9 below one step. A cable 4 sent out of a laying ship is buried in a trench 16 excavated in the seabed 18 through the rear of the plow 9 from an inlet 15.

    • PURPOSE: To exactly lay a cable without causing any damage to the cable being buried by excavation by using a system in which an excavating means and a soil discharging ejector are provided to a cable guide and excavated soil and sand are discharged onto the back plate of the cable guide by high-pressure water.
      CONSTITUTION: A cable guide 2 is pivotally supported on a seabed sleigh 3 in a freely rocking manner. In the cable guide 2 having a downward chunnel form, a cable pathway 4 is provided at both ends in the longitudinal direction, and an excavating means is provided at the upper and lower parts between the cable pathway 4 and the chunnel opening. Also, soil discharge ejectors 5 and 5' by using high-pressure jet water stream are connected to a return pipe 10 having an opening on the back plate 8 of the cable guide 2 through a soil discharge outlet from soil discharge suction port, through which soil and sand are discharged onto the back plate 8 of the cable guide 6. Thus, the cable can be exactly buried the discharged soil and sand without the needs to lift up the laid cable.

    • PURPOSE: To excavate a seabed trench in a hard ground by using a composite jet means through which high-pressure water whose jet stream portion is supplied with a compressed air of more than a pressure corresponding to water depth and low-pressure water is jetted around the high-pressure water and a low- pressure jet means through which compressed air alone is supplied.
      CONSTITUTION: A cable 2 supplied from a laying ship 1 is directed to a sleigh frame 3 on the seabed, and submarine laying device is towed by the laying ship 1. In the submarine laying device, a cable guide 6 is pivotally supported at the center of the sleigh frame 3 of a plane-C type by an oil-pressure cylinder 10 in a freely rocking manner, a cable passage 13 is provided in the cable guide 6, a low-pressure water jet nozzle assembly 15 and a soil discharge portion A are provided on the upper part of the guide 6, and a composite jet nozzle assembly 14 and a soil discharge portion B are provided on the lower part of the guide 6. While jetting a jet stream at the ground to be excavated, a trench for laying the cable is excavated, the sleigh frame 3 is towed by the laying ship 1, and the cable 2 is laid.
