    • A liquid sprayer with two side-by-side containers, an interconnecting bridge, and a nozzle insert positioned interiorly of the bridge. Alternatively, a two container piggyback liquid sprayer, a button actuator and a nozzle insert positioned interiorly of the button. One container is for product such as paint, etc., and the other container contains propellant. Very high product/propellant ratios are obtained. An intermediate portion of the nozzle insert has a venturi constriction with an internal propellant outlet orifice. Two product channels transverse to the nozzle insert longitudinal axis overlap the internal outlet orifice by approximately one-half. An outer frustoconical surface surrounds the internal venturi constriction outlet. An expansion chamber diameter is greater than the diameter of both the venturi constriction outlet orifice and the outer frustoconical surface adjacent this orifice. The venturi constriction outlet orifice is longitudinally spaced from the expansion chamber a distance to substantially prevent the propellant gas cone passing into the transverse product channels. The transverse product channels are quasi-rectangular with areas greater than the venturi constriction outlet orifice. Internal bridge or button spaces extend about the intermediate portion of the nozzle insert. Other significant dimensional relationships are set forth.

    • A portable apparatus for feeding liquid under pressure to an applicator, comprises a vessel having a pressurizing assembly associated therewith, the assembly having a housing for receiving a capsule of pressurized gas and having pressure reducing means. A first fluid path extends from the high pressure side of the pressure reducing means and communicates with the outlet of the capsule inserted, in use, in the housing. The vessel has defined therein a first chamber and a second chamber, the second chamber containing, in use, the liquid to be fed to the applicator. A diaphragm is disposed between the first and second chambers. A second fluid path extends from the low pressure side of the pressure reducing means and communicates with the second chamber. Gas is allowed to flow through the diaphragm between the first and second chambers to equalize the pressure in said chambers; but flow of liquid is inhibited from the second chamber to the first chamber whereby the liquid is inhibited from reaching other parts of the apparatus. Preferably this is accomplished by having a small hole or a slit in the diaphragm. A feed conduit is connected to the vessel and communicates with the second chamber for transferring liquid from the second chamber to the applicator. The second chamber may be defined by a liquid container received within the vessel.

    • A device for dispensing liquid product in fine droplet form has a dispenser body having a bore therethrough. A product pressurizing piston cylinder means is provided on one end of the dispenser body for pressurizing liquid product in the product pressurizing means. An air compressing piston cylinder means is provided on the other end of the dispenser body having a member movable through a compression stroke for compressing air within the air compressing piston cylinder means and supplying it to the bore of the dispenser body. A dispensing nozzle means is provided on the dispenser body having a compressed air passage and a liquid passage therethrough for co-mingling the compressed air and liquid and dispensing the liquid product in fine droplet form in the compressed air. The dispenser body has a liquid passage opening out of one end of the bore and extending to the dispensing nozzle means and a compressed air passage opening out of the other end of the bore and extending to the dispensing nozzle means. When pressure is exerted from opposite ends of the device, gas valve means in the bore are movable to open the compressed air passage, and liquid valve means in the bore are movable to open the liquid passage by the movement of the movable member of the air compressing piston cylinder means near the end of the compression stroke only when said air compressing piston cylinder means has compressed air to a predetermined pressure.

    • A product dispensing container of the type including a collapsible product containing a bag assembly which is disposed within a rigid container and defines a chamber therein. The chamber is filled with a propellant. A valve dispensing means communicates with the bag assembly for discharging the product therefrom under the force of the propellant. The product containing bag assembly includes a compartment bag constructed so as to be only axially collapsible when subjected to the radial and axial forces of the propellant. The bag assembly further includes a barrier bag or sheath which encloses the compartment bag. The barrier bag is made from an impermeable film material and is flexible so as not to influence the axial collapse of the compartment bag.

The first closure includes a normally open aperture for venting the product chamber to atmosphere, while the actuator includes means for closing the aperture during a dispensing operation.

    • A coupler-aspirator-nozzle is formed in one piece. Coupling means are provided for coupling to a propellant cartridge and a separate product container. The coupling means communicate with first and second flow passages which in turn communicate with a mixing chamber. The mixing chamber then communicates with a nozzle opening. Flow of the propellant through the mixing chamber aspirates the product through the second flow passage and into the mixing chamber. The product is mixed with the propellant in the mixing chamber and then is sprayed through the nozzle opening. An indexing guide is provided to prevent the coupleraspirator-nozzle from becoming disoriented.
