The rotary serrator knife tool may comprise a concentrically located bore about an inner diameter for mounting on an arbor and may further incorporate a keyway. The rotary serrator knife may be formed from an assembly comprising, a central rotary disk about which mount one or more removable inserts comprising the serration undulation portion. The one or more removable inserts may comprise serration undulations on one side or two sides and mount substantially to the perimeter of a mounting disk by use of fasteners.

摘要： A system is provided for cutting and finishing muntins. The system comprises a device for cutting muntins, a device for pinning muntins, and at least one device for punching muntins. The device for cutting muntins comprises a pair of cutting blades that are independently rotatable, translatable and positionable, and indexable, and further comprises means for precisely measuring muntins fed into the apparatus. The device for pinning muntins comprises means for stabilizing a muntin during punching; a guide, which is preferably magnetic; a pin or a blade, which is preferably made of metal; means for punching the pin or blade into a muntin; and means for precisely measuring the location at which a pin or blade is to be punched into a muntin. The at least one device for punching muntins comprises means for stabilizing a muntin strip; means for cutting the muntin strip; and means for translating the means for cutting. Power for the at least one punching apparatus is preferably pneumatic. More than one punching apparatus can be powered from the same pneumatic source.

Elongated deformations may be formed in a workpiece by translating the workpiece horizontally along the surface while the roller is in its lower position. A coacting roller may be provided beneath the workpiece so that the rollers come into deforming contact with opposite sides of the workpiece to deform it as the workpiece is translated between the rollers.

摘要： Using a pair of driven knifing rolls having annular wedges therearound, one above the other, a relatively hot metal piece having a rectangular cross-section is cut into three or more narrower widths. The annular wedges hold and bite into the metal piece being transferred in the longitudinal direction thereof, thus forming V-shaped grooves in the metal. The angle formed between that flank which is closer to the as-cast side of the metal piece to be cut, upon which no cutting force is exerted, and a perpendicular to the roll axis is greater than the angle formed between the opposite flank and the same perpendicular, so that the cross-sectional shape of the annular wedge is asymmetrical with respect to a line segment that passes through the pointed end of the wedge and extends perpendicular to the axis of the rolls.

摘要： In realizing the present method a ring-shaped tool is used with the cutting edge formed at the intersection of its inner and end surfaces, said tool is slipped over an article to be machined and positioned at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the article, the angle being selected depending on the curvature of the work surface, and then the cutting tool and the product are given a relative motion to provide for the interaction of the tool and the surface of the article being machined, such that the article moves only progressively, while the cutting tool is only rotating. In an installation for removing production-caused excess metal from curved surfaces of long-sized articles by the present method, the tool is ring-shaped with the cutting edge at the intersection of its inner and end surfaces, means for fixing the cutting tool comprises a holder rotating together with the tool around the article in the course of machining and provided with devices for inclining the holder in relation to the longitudinal axis of the article and for fixing it in the inclined position, while the holder with the cutting tool accommodates a support for positive pressing of the article against the cutting edge of the tool, and means for relative displacement of the cutting tool and the article is represented by a device imparting to the tool and the article such relative motion that the article moves only progressively, while the cutting tool is only rotating.
