摘要： A method for improving a property of a weld of an austenitic stainless steel which is a part of a structure being brought into contact with a corrosive fluid at a region having been affected by welding heat on both of opposed surfaces, comprising the steps of: cooling said thermally affected region on one of said opposed surfaces; and simultaneously with said cooling step, applying a melting treatment to the other surface, thereby changing the melting treatment portion into a micro structure that contains delta (.delta.) ferrite and is superior in corrosion resistance property. The latter surface is improved in high tensile stress generated by the welding work. Namely, its stress is reduced. The melting heat for said melting treatment is obtained by application of high density energy.

摘要： In an apparatus for mounting, within the glass neck of a cathode ray tube envelope, an electron gun assembly which includes the usual glass stem in the form of a disk with an exhaust tubulation extending centrally therefrom for eventual evacuation of the envelope, an upright support tube is provided with a central bore which is closed at its lower end and opened at the upper end for receiving the exhaust tubulation when the electron gun assembly is supported by such tube with the stem above the upper end of the support tube, and the support tube further has longitudinal passages therein spaced outwardly from the central bore and isolated from the latter, such longitudinal passages opening at ends thereof adjacent the upper end of the support tube. The cathode ray tube envelope is supported with its glass neck extending downwardly about the stem of the electron gun assembly carried by the support tube, and the glass neck is heated in the vicinity of the stem so as to fuse together the neck and stem, whereupon an inert gas under pressure is supplied to the longitudinal passages of the support tube and exits therefrom through the passage ends below the stem to act on the heated neck for severing the latter immediately below the fusing thereof to the stem without the danger of blowing dust into the cathode ray tube envelope through the exhaust tubulation upon the supplying of the inert gas.

摘要： A wire harness manufactured by a new method and a new apparatus is provided. A covered wire paid out from a selected one of reels is extended in a predetermined lay-out and fixed. The thus fixed wire is cut-off from the reel. Then, another wire is paid out from another reel for arranging it in a juxtaposing relation to the previously laid-out wire and cut off from the reel. After repeating the above steps, the arranged wires are tied up to form a wire harness. There is also provided a device which puts the above method into practice, thereby reducing complicated assorting work involved in the manufacture of a wire harness. A method and a device for automatically uncovering end portions of each wire of the wire harness and attaching terminals thereto are also provided to greatly increasing the productivity.
