    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent contact failure from occurring between a tab part and a tab contact part if a terminal is shifted in a terminal housing chamber. SOLUTION: In this pressure-contact joint connector, a terminal 6 is inserted and housed in a terminal housing chamber 5 in each connector housing 1, and by moving two connector housings 1 in directions to bring a connection surface 1a of one connector housing 1 close to a connection surface 1b of the other, the connector housings 1 are connected in multistage relation while a tab part 6c of one of vertically opposed terminals 6 makes contact with a tab contact part 6d of the other when the two connector housings 1 are in the position of connection. A contact surface 20 extending in the terminal insertion/extraction direction S of each terminal 6 is formed on its tab part 6c, each tab contact part 6d is adapted to be elastically deformable in an orthogonal direction T to the terminal insertion/extraction direction, and each tab contact part 6c makes contact with the contact surface 20 of an opposite standing tab part 6c by being elastically deformed in the orthogonal direction T to the terminal insertion/extraction direction.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly break a power circuit upon occurrence of an abnormality. SOLUTION: This connector has a movable pin 43 in slidable contact with terminals 55 and 56, an engagement part 54 and a locking means 45 for the movable pin 43, an energizing means 62 and a lock releasing drive means (solenoid) 42 for the movable pin 43. One of the locking members 45 of one locking means is jointed to the plunger 44 of the solenoid 42, and the other locking member 45 is journalled to a bracket 46, thereby engaging the locking member 45 with the engagement part 54. The solenoid 42 may be symmetrically provided with a second plunger 150 for jointing a second locking member 151 thereto so as to be engaged with a second engagement part 65 of the movable pin 43. Also, the plunger 44 may be pulled in a locking direction using a weight and a folded wire, instead of the lock member 151. The engagement part 54 may be formed on the forward end of the movable pin 43, the locking member 45 and a bracket may be arranged at the projected side of the movable pin 43, and then the solenoid may be laid at the lateral side of the movable pin 43. Furthermore, the locking member 45 has a resin tip 53, and the movable pin 43 is formed to have a housing part for a coil spring 62.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a connector terminal with the structure that a contact part of a terminal is exposed from a housing by connecting a pair of covers, which are positioned in each side of a main body, with a band part, and surrounding a contact part of the terminal, which is projected from the main body, with the pair of covers and the band part. SOLUTION: In a base housing 12 integrally formed with a band part 27, a pair of covers 21, 21 are connected to each other by a band part 27. During the time till the base housing 12 is inserted into a housing case, a contact part 17 of a terminal 11, which is projected out of the base housing 12, is protected by the pair of covers 21, 21 and the band part 27. With this structure, since the external force is not applied to the contact part 17 of the terminal 11 during the time of handling the base housing 12, namely, during a process for manufacturing a wire harness, the contact part 17 of the terminal 11 is secured protected. As a result, normal fitting to a counterpart terminal is enabled.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector contact-terminal member which can be safely wound and stored without increasing its production cost and deforming it. SOLUTION: This connector contact-terminal member 11 comprises connector contact terminals 12 which, from a carrier part 13 that continues in the form of a narrow strip, are punched in such a way that a number of them are aligned at predetermined pitches P while each of them is expanded in a desired shape, and each of which has at one end an electric contact part 15 into which a connector pin can be inserted via a contact face 16 and has at the other end a gripping part 14 to which wire harness can be pressed and fixed; and terminal deformation preventing pieces 17, each of which has a folded height (b) equal to or greater than the folded height (a) of each of projecting pieces 14a to 14d, 15a, 15b projected on both sides of the gripping part 14 and the electric contact part 15 and folded at roughly right angles, and which are projected from the carrier part 13 with pitches P about equal to those of the connector contact terminal members 11, so that the member 11 can be safely wound and stored without increasing its production cost and deforming it.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts items and to improve the workability by fitting a male type connector into a fitting hood part of a female type connec tor in the condition that a seal member is previously installed in the rear end of the male type connector, and performing a predetermined seal. CONSTITUTION:In the condition that a seal member 37 is previously installed in the rear end of a male type connector 29, the male type connector 29 is fitted in a fitting hood part 31 of a female type connector 33. The inner wall of the hood part 31 and the male type connector 29 are thereby waterproofed, and while a clearance between a wire W, which is to be drawn from a terminal housing chamber 35 of the male type connector 29, and the inner wall of a housing chamber 35 is waterproofed. With this structure, a dedicated seal material such as an O-ring for sealing a clearance between the inner wall of the fitting hood part 31 and the male type connector 29 is eliminated, and the number of parts item.is reduced, and a water-proof connector, of which connecting workability is improved, is obtained.
