    • An image forming apparatus of the electrophotographic type wherein a toner image formed on a photosensitive drum is transferred to recording paper by a transfer roller to form an image is disclosed. When the size of the toner image formed on the photosensitive drum is larger than the size of the recording paper, a portion of the toner image which projects from the recording paper is transferred to the transfer roller and will soil another sheet of recording paper supplied subsequently. Therefore, when comparison between the size of the toner image formed on the photosensitive drum and the size of the recording paper reveals a difference between them, an image forming operation is interrupted and a cleaning device is rendered operative to remove the toner from the transfer roller. Thereupon, presence or absence and the size of an image area protruding from the recording paper are determined from the image size and the recording paper size, and the number and the time of operations of the cleaning device are controlled to minimum values in accordance with the determination.

    • An ultrasonic degreasing apparatus includes a cleaning section, a rinsing section, a hot water cleaning section, and a drying section. The cleaning section has an ultrasonic oscillator for oscillating ultrasonic waves in distilled water and a heater for heating the water, and performs a degreasing process including a cleaning process with respect to an object to be processed in the heated water by using ultrasonic waves. The cleaning section has a deaerating section for performing deaeration by circulating the distilled water. The rinsing section has an ultrasonic oscillator for oscillating ultrasonic waves in distilled water containing a rust preventive and a heater for heating the water, and performs a degreasing process including a rinsing process with respect to the object in the heated water by using the ultrasonic waves. The rinsing section has a deaerating section for performing deaeration by circulating the distilled water. The hot-water cleaning section has a heater arranged in distilled water, and performs a cleaning process with hot water with respect to the object in the distilled water heated by the heater. The drying section dries the cleaned object conveyed from the hot-water cleaning section.

    • A serial data transfer device has a FIFO memory for storing plural parallel data, a status register for indicating the actual number of residual data in the FIFO memory, a set register for arbitrarily setting the number of residual data in the FIFO memory, and a comparison circuit for comparing the indication value of the status register with the value of the set register. The indication value of the status register which indicates the actual number of residual transmit data (or residual receive data) in the FIFO memory is compared with the value of the set register in which a specific number of residual transmit data (or residual receive data) in the FIFO memory is set. Only when the number of residual transmit data (or residual receive data) in the FIFO memory is decreased (or increased) to the predetermined number of data, an interrupt signal is issued to a CPU.

    • A control apparatus for use in a synchronous machine having a field and an armature windings, one of the windings being provided on a stator and the other winding on a rotor comprises a thyristor converter for feeding the armature winding with electric power. A rotor position detector, an actual current detector and a rotating speed detector are provided. A current pattern signal is produced on the basis of the rotor position signal and the rotating speed signal and is compared with the actual armature current. A gate pulse generator controls the thyristors of the thyristor converter in accordance with the difference between the current pattern signal and the actual armature current signal. A phase shifter is provided for shifting the current pattern signal. A phase detector detects the phase difference between the armature current supplied for the armature winding and the rotor position, and the phase shifting operation of the phase shifter is controlled in accordance with an output from the phase detector.
