摘要： A liquid crystal display apparatus having a liquid crystal panel including a pair of substrates, a plurality of electrodes formed on at least one of the pair of substrates and a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the pair of substrates, and a light source provided on one surface of the liquid crystal panel. An electric field in the liquid crystal layer produced by the plurality of electrodes is predominantly in parallel with surfaces of the pair of substrates. The light source has a luminous characteristic with a first chromaticity and the liquid crystal panel has a characteristic of spectral transmittance with a second chromaticity different from the first chromaticity so as to compensate for the color of the light source.

摘要： The present invention aims at acquiring a display device with no brightness irregularities of display. A plurality of drain signal lines are formed in parallel on a pixel-forming-side surface of a substrate. With respect to the respective drain signal lines, a plurality of drain signal lines which are arranged close to each other are formed into each group, and one ends of the respective drain signal lines which are formed into each group are converged together, are extended and are connected to an output terminal of a semiconductor integrated circuit which constitutes a video signal drive circuit. A bus line for supplying reference signals to respective pixels is formed on at least an outer profile side of a mass of pixels at the video signal drive circuit side. The first power supply lines start from both sides of the semiconductor integrated circuit, run outside the drain signal lines which are formed into groups and are connected to the bus line. Second power supply lines start from both sides of the semiconductor integrated circuit, reach portions of the bus line corresponding to an approximately center portion of the drain signal lines which are formed into groups and are connected to the bus line.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device includes a pair of substrates with a liquid crystal layer therebetween, scanning signal lines and video signal lines formed on one of the substrates, first electrodes provided on the one substrate, second electrodes provided on the one substrate to drive the liquid crystal layer by a voltage difference with respect to the first electrode, and an orientation film formed on a nearest surface to the liquid crystal layer on each of the substrates and having an initial orientation direction. At least two first electrodes and at least one second electrode are provided in each pixel with the first electrode and the second electrode having portions substantially in parallel. The at least two first electrode are connected by connecting portion in each pixel.

摘要： A pair of electrodes which constitute an upper layer and a lower layer with respect to an interlayer insulation film are formed as different layers at respective pixel regions on a liquid-crystal-side surface of one substrate out of respective substrates which are arranged to face each other in an opposed manner by way of liquid crystal. At two pixel regions which are selected from the respective pixel regions, the height of background layers on which the electrodes which constitute the lower layers with respect to the interlayer insulation films are formed differs with respect to a surface of one substrate. The film thickness of the interlayer insulation film is set small with respect to the high background layer out of respective background layers which differ in height and is set large with respect to the low background layer out of respective background layers which differ in height.
