In an embodiment of the invention, a method for on-demand translation of text can include receiving in a dynamic translation module executing in memory by at least one processor of a host computer, a message request from an executing application for text in a language for a target locale. The method further can include retrieving text in a language for a locale different from the target locale and translating the retrieved text into a language for the target locale. Finally, the method can include returning the translated retrieved text to the application. Retrieving text in a language or locale different from the target locale may involve identifying and querying a locale specific resource bundle. If no replacement is possible using an existing resource bundle, machine translation may be used.

The system includes a computer based source of a plurality of records subject to a batch update. Each record in the plurality has respective meta data information. A computer processor projects application of changes forming the batch update in one record of the plurality. The processor applies heuristics including noting metadata information of the one record impacting changes to each record in the plurality. Using the noted metadata information and heuristics, the system further projects application of the batch update changes to remaining records in the plurality. A preview display of the projected results of the batch changes allows the user to commit, modify or revert batch updates per record.

摘要： An apparatus and article for cutting print media associated with a printing process. A media cutting logic - controlled head (100) is incorporated into printing hardware. The cutting head is provided with a plurality of cutting devices (104) that may be implemented in the form of cutting pins. Multiple cutting devices may be simultaneously extended and retracted or activated and deactivated, to cut the media (120) at multiple locations. A processor accepts at least one decimal floating point operand and performs a decimal floating point operation on the at least one decimal floating point operand to produce a decimal floating point result. A determination is made as to whether the decimal floating point result fails to maintain a preferred quantum. The preferred quantum indicates a value represented by a least significant digit of a significand of the decimal floating point result. An output is provided, in response to the determining that the decimal floating point result fails to maintain the preferred quantum, indicating an occurrence of a quantum exception. A maskable exception can be generated that is immediately trapped or later detected to control conditional processing.

A packet of data directed to the WPAR and including a combined address is received at a software stack. A determination is made whether the combined address includes an identifier that is reserved. The software stack is an application configured to enable data communication using a protocol of the packet, and is modified to detect, recognize, and process the combined address for routing the packet to the WPAR. The combined address may be logically formed using an identifier associated with the data processing system and an identifier associated with the WPAR, which may be located in different portions of the packet.

The groups are generally organized by elapsed time since last access or modification, and may be organized at restore time or during periodic back-up operations so that the files may be similarly organized in the backup media.
