    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely prevent fuel leakage from a fuel injection valve at the time of stop, without deteriorating startability at the time of restart, in regard to a fuel supply system for an internal combustion engine.
      SOLUTION: Necessary bubble amount inside a fuel supply passage so as not to increase fuel pressure again after closing of a solenoid valve is estimated. As an estimate method of the necessary bubble amount, for example, an increase degree of fuel temperature inside the fuel supply passage increasing accompanied by the stop of the internal combustion engine is predicted, and based on the predicted increase degree of the fuel temperature, the necessary bubble amount can be estimated. Since bubble amount depends on valve opening time of the solenoid valve, necessary valve opening time of the solenoid valve can be determined based on the estimated necessary bubble amount, and the solenoid valve is operated on the basis of the necessary valve opening time at the time of stop of the internal combustion engine.

    • PURPOSE:To lower combustion noises, by decreasing the injection ratio at the time of idling of an injected internal combustion engine such as a Diesel engine equipped with a distributive fuel injection pump to reduce the pressure in the cylinder of the engine at that time. CONSTITUTION:Fuel is sucked and pressurized by a pump 2 driven by the engine and is supplied to a chamber 4 of a pump housing 3. A distributing head part 3a of the housing 3 is fitted with a plunger barrel 6 wherein a pump and distributing plunger 7 is slidably fitted. In the intake process wherein the plunger 7 is moved leftward, the fuel is sucked from the chamber 4 into a pumping chamber 11 through an intake passage 8 and an intake recess 9. In the succeeding pressure-feed process, the fuel is supplied to one of injection nozzles through passages 12, 14. An escape passage 28, which communicates with said passage 12 through passages 23, 25, is provided in a valve element 21 which moves in response to the rotation of the engine. The passage 12 is connected to a low pressure side through the escape passage 28 only at the time of idling.
