摘要： The present invention relates to a device and a method for sharpening and cleaning a safety razor blade. The device comprises a polymer-based mat and either one or more polymer-based holding elements (21-24) for holding the safety razor blade in a fixed relationship with the device, or a pair of guiding tracks (4,4') being arranged so that at least part of the polymer-based mat is arranged between said pair of guiding tracks. The guiding tracks and the polymer-based mat are arranged relative to each other in such a way that the guiding tracks define a maximum allowed penetration depth of the blades of the safety razor blade into the polymer-based mat. By applying the device and a method according to the present invention the lifetime of safety razor blades may be increased by a factor of up to five.

摘要： A sharpening apparatus for razors includes a blade sharpener rotatably supported within a housing and driven by a motor. An opening in the housing provides access to the blade sharpener for a blade head of a razor containing one or more blades. The rotatably supported blade sharpener includes at least one sharpening element on a body, the sharpening element presenting an abrasive outer surface for contacting the blades. The body may be a carrier and the sharpening element may be abrasive rods located in channels in the carrier. The body is rotatably supported by a shaft. The housing may include a removable guide frame including an opening and having rim walls adjacent the opening for positioning the blade head. The body may also include a polishing material.

摘要： In one aspect, a method of preparing a meat skinner blade is provided which includes: abrading an upper edge of a steel strip to form an angularly-offset two-facet blade edge; and, honing the two-facet blade edge of the steel strip to impart a vertical taper along the two facets of the two-facet blade edge. Advantageously, the subject invention provides a blade for meat skinning, de-membraning, and derinding having, in use, a downwardly-turned edge with vertical tapering. This provides for a robust design capable for more cuts, and, thus, longer use life, than standard meat skinner blades.
