摘要： An image signal producing part (11) produces an image signal of variable-frame-rate picked-up image. A signal production control part (24) drives the image signal producing part (11) and produces an image pickup setting information (IF) for producing an image signal frame-synchronized with an image signal (DVd) produced by the image signal producing part (11). The image pickup setting information (IF) is inserted into the produced image signal (DVd) and then outputted. When receiving image pickup setting information (IFex), the signal production control part (24) controls, based on the image pickup setting information (IFex), the operation of the image signal producing part (11) such that the image signal to be produced is frame synchronized with an image signal of a reference variable-frame-rate picked-up image of the source of the image pickup setting information (IFex). When a plurality of image pickup apparatuses capable of varying their frame rates are used, then their image signals can be frame synchronized.

摘要： A system is disclosed for providing direct automated access to an online information services provider (34a, 34n) through an address embedded in a video or audio programm, commercial message, or news story. The system operates with video or audio programs (15) which are received through broadcast, cable or pre-recorded media, and which are encoded in either analog or digital formats. 摘要： A receiver having an interface arrangement for connection between said television circuit and a conditional access sub- system conveys data via a bus having a four frame bus cycle period with a bit rate corresponding to the line rate. 摘要： A widescreen television picture is sampled at a higher sampling rate so as to fit all of the information in the current 52.5 us active video line time. A selection signal is also incorporated with the widescreen picture signal, allowing non-widescreen television receivers to display a contiguous portion of the widescreen picture without geometric distortion. The widescreen television signal is transmitted either in MAC or widescreen NTSC format, and is received by a decoder. The decoder allows the entire widescreen picture to be displayed on a widescreen receiver, and makes use of the selection signal to display the selected portion of the picture on a standard receiver without geometric distortion. In anoter embodiment, a decoder allows television signals having the standard aspect ratio to be displayed on receivers having widescreen aspect ratios without geometric distortion.
