    • 1463652 Cigarette lighters; lamps MABUCHI MOTOR KK 13 Nov 1973 28536/76 Divided out of 1463652 Headings F4F and F4R A cigarette lighter comprises a casing a having a first part 59 provided with an opening 59a for insertion of a cigarette and within which is located a heating wire 57a, and a second part 60 having an opening 60a within which is mounted a light bulb 58, first and second switch mechanisms being provided for selectively connecting the heating wire or the bulb to one or more electric cells 66 mounted in the casing. The cells 66 may be housed in an insulating cylinder 52 outside of which are located conductive plates 53, 53a in circuit with the cells. The wire 57a is mounted on a holder 54 having a central terminal 54a and is energized by depressing a clip switch 61 to engage contacts 61a and 64. The bulb 58 is mounted in a holder 55 secured to a cap 60 rotatably mounted on the casing. A switch plate 65 is fixed to holder 55 and has an insulating portion (65b, not shown) and a connector 65c for contact with the lamp terminal 55a 1 , rotation of the cap 60 moving the insulating portion into and out of contact with the conducting plate 53a to turn the bulb off and on. In a modification the casing comprises two parts each mounting one cell and positioned alongside each other. The cells 66 may be rechargeable nickelcadmium cells.

    • 1,135,160. Electric cigar lighters. CASCO PRODUCTS CORP. 17 Oct., 1967 [1 Nov., 1966], No. 47288/67. Heading F4F. In an electric cigar lighter with an igniting unit 10 removably supported within a holder 12 which has an overload circuit-breaker attached to its bottom wall, the circuit-breaker 32 comprises a movably mounted bridging contact member 48 with a central sleeve portion 50 adapted to fit over a stud 52 on the input terminal 30 thus guiding the member 48 for axial movement, a coil spring 54 of bi-metallic wire having a copper-clad steel core also providing electrical contact between the sleeve 50 and stud 52 and heat-responsive electricallyconducting latching fingers 60, overheating of the heating coil of unit 10 causing the bimetallic fingers 60 to move outward and release the contact member 48 which is moved by the spring 54 to break the circuit by moving a lip 64 out of contact with the fingers 60. The circuit-breaker is reset by means of a reset pin 80 of ceramic material.
