    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring method for nitrite ion concentration in which the nitrite concentration in a nitrous acid solution can be accurately and speedily measured even under a condition in which a compound which reacts with nitrous acid such as a compound having an amino group is contained in the nitrous acid solution.SOLUTION: There is provided a measuring method for nitrite ion concentration that measures the nitrite ion concentration in a nitrous acid solution containing a nitrous acid and a nitrous acid reactive compound, the measuring method for nitrite ion concentration including calculating the nitrite ion concentration in the nitrous acid solution based upon the difference between the absorbance of a first solution prepared by adding alkali equivalent to the mol number of hydroxide ions which is 1.5 or more times as large as the mol number of hydrogen ions of the nitrous acid solution to the nitrous acid solution and the absorbance of a second solution prepared by adding a strong acid to the nitrous acid solution up to pH of below 2, and then adding alkali equivalent to the mol number of hydroxide ions which is 1.5 or more times as large as the mol number of hydrogen ions of the nitrous acid solution after the addition of the strong acid.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preparing a lithium nitrite aqueous solution by which the high concentration lithium nitrite aqueous solution is prepared by a chemical reaction in water using easily obtainable raw materials without necessitating a special reaction apparatus.
      SOLUTION: Calcium nitrite and lithium hydroxide are made to react with each other in water and by-produced calcium hydroxide is removed from the resultant reaction mixture by solid-liquid separation. As a preferable embodiment, the lithium nitrite aqueous solution having 40 wt.% concentration is easily obtained by removing by-produced calcium hydroxide from the resultant reaction mixture by solid-liquid separation to obtain lithium nitrite aqueous solution after calcium nitrite and lithium hydroxide reacted with each other in water, adding calcium nitrite and lithium hydroxide into the lithium nitrite aqueous solution and after reacting, removing by-produced calcium hydroxide from the resultant reaction mixture by solid-liquid separation.
