    • A tower mounting apparatus consists of tower mounting brackets, track members, a roller assembly, platform mounting brackets, and platform members. The tower mounting brackets are attached to a tower at a first interface, and are attached to the track members at a second interface. The roller assemblies are attached to the platform mounting brackets at a first interface, while the platform members are attached to the platform mounting brackets at a second interface. The roller assemblies are designed to rotate freely over the track members. One or more devices—such as a wind turbine, a cellular communication system, a transmitter/receiver for radio or television signals, or solar arrays—may be mounted onto the platform. The apparatus may further comprise a slip-ring assembly that provides a continuous electrical connection to such devices. The platform mounting apparatus may be installed on a variety of different towers.

    • A prime mover that is powered by the energy of a fluid is provided. Such a prime mover may include a first fairing, a second fairing spaced apart from the first fairing to define a gap therebetween and a blade assembly mounted on a shaft that extends between the first and second fairings. The first and second fairings each have a curved peripheral edge for guiding a fluid into the gap at an increased velocity. When the fluid flows into the gap it contacts the blade assembly to thereby rotate the blade assembly about an axis that is defined by the shaft. The rotation of the blade assembly may be used to generate power in a power generator. The prime mover may be mounted on a cell phone tower and used to generate electricity for powering components of the tower and/or for providing electricity to the power grid.

    • A wind turbine includes a nacelle with any manner of associated power generation equipment. The nacelle is mounted atop a tower having a base end configured for support on a ground level foundation. A tower support system provides support to the tower and includes an axially extending circumferential sleeve mounted around the tower at a location between the base end and the nacelle. A plurality of support legs are disposed around the sleeve, with each support leg having a first end rigidly affixed to the sleeve and an opposite foot end configured for mounting to a ground level footing. The support legs extend from the sleeve with a length and at an acute extension angle relative to a longitudinal axis of the tower so as to provide a designed degree of vertical and lateral support around the circumference of the tower.

    • The present invention concerns a downwind power plant (1) with at tower (2), a machine housing (3) and a turbine (4) supported in the housing (3). The turbine (4) defines a plane of revolution and is adapted to be pivoted to a position substantially perpendicular to the direction of the wind. At least two wires (6) are connected to the tower (2) at its one end, and each wire is attached in at least one attachment point in the other end for maintaining the tower in an erected position during operation. Each wire may include at least a first and a second position. The wire in the first position extends at an oblique angle downwards from an attachment point in or close to the centre for the horizontal forces that are applied to the tower by the turbine under operation. In the second position is each wire lead out of the plane of revolution, such that the turbine plane is free to turn around a vertical axis without the wire impeding the turbine plane. Furthermore, it is described a method for operating a downwind power plant of this type.
