摘要： A shutter slat assembly for a storm shutter, each slat assembly including an elongated horizontally extending hollow shutter slat having longitudinally extending formed outer edges configured to slidably, interlockingly connect with the next adjacent slat for limited pivotal movement between adjacent connected slats sufficient for rolled-up storage of the storm shutter. Each slat has a central port formed therethrough for viewing and light transmission through the port. An elongated transparent panel is also provided having a cross section slidably fitted into the slat and enlarged edge portions configured and spaced for dependent slidable engagement between and within inwardly facing grooves formed inwardly adjacent to the outer edges. The transparent panel covers the port while allowing a person to obtain a view and permit light transmission therethrough. Sliding opaque covers positioned within the slat and over the transparent panel allow for selective closure of light transmission.

摘要： The present invention is directed to a modular roll-up partition assembly, such as a rolling protective shutter, implementing an improved tension adjustment mechanism for torsion springs used in roll-up partition assemblies. In one embodiment, the roll-up partition assembly of the present invention includes a tension adjustment mechanism to adjust the tension of a torsion spring connected between a support rod and the partition support member. The tension adjustment mechanism rotates the support rod to move the end of the torsion spring connected to the rod relative to the end of the torsion spring connected to the partition support member. Unlike previous roll-up partition assemblies which permitted adjustment of the torsion spring tension only in increments of a full rotation of the support member, the tension adjustment mechanism facilitates fine adjustment of the torsion spring in increments of less than a full rotation of the partition support member.

摘要： The invention is directed to a guide mechanism for plates and a sun protection system under a translucent sun roof in an automobile. The invention comprises at least two plates having guide blocks non-rigidly attached thereto and provided at each end of the plates. The guide blocks are adapted to slide within two opposing guide tracks located within guide sections in the roof of the automobile. Each of the guide blocks includes an elastic spring device which coacts with the plate whereby uneven torque forces caused by sliding of the plates and which causes friction at the guide track is minimized.
