    • The present invention is related to a method for implementing EAP authentication relay in a wireless access system. During the EAP authentication process, an authentication protocol of the EAP over a wireless medium runs between the Supplicant and the Authentication Relay, the EAPoL protocol runs between the Authentication Relay and the Authenticator, and the Authentication Relay performs the transformation between the authentication protocol of EAP over wireless medium and EAPoL. The method in this present invention may facilitate the interoperability between the Authentication Relays and the Supplicants from various vendors, as well as make better use of the current Ethernet access and aggregation network. The present invention can work under the current framework of a fixed access network without much modification.

    • A remote site downloading system is disclosed in which a local computer establishes a session with a content server, and a content file and geographic destination drive are selected. The local computer is typically on a first access network and the user wishes to have the file downloaded to a geographic drive, i.e., a remote site computer whose location and other properties are mapped in a mapping file on the local computer. The geographic drive is usually on a different access network in a dynamic location such as a hotspot or a fixed location such as broadband cable or DSL. The local computer is specially programmed to allow selection of the geographic target drive, pack information comprising cookies and a URL, and sends it to the remote geographic drive computer, where it may act as a proxy to cause downloading from the content server to the geographic drive on the remote site computer.

    • A method and apparatus for modulating multilevel data arrays to make them suitable for storage in multidimensional storage media, such as in holographic storage. In order to get a uniform signal of constant energy at the recording plane, first the multilevel data array, Vout, displayed on a spatial light modulator, has frequent transitions between symbols of different levels, and second it has constant energy. The energy is defined as the summation of the values of the symbols in the data array. The first constraint is achieved using V′in=Vin⊕qM(q, ZO), where ⊕q stands for the modulo-q addition operation; M(q, Zo) is a data array with randomly distributed symbols of q levels, where q is the number of levels and ZO is the seed used to generate the random multilevel data array. In order to equalize the energy of the modulated data array V′in, a q-ary balanced complementary method is used to complement the symbols of the input multilevel data array, V′in, in a horizontal row-by-row readout order terminating after the first ii symbols.
