摘要： A method for producing L-glutamic acid which comprises culturing a microorganism belonging to the genus Klebsiella, Erwinia or Pantoea and having an ability to produce L-glutamic acid in a culture medium, and collecting produced L-glutamic acid from the culture medium. The microbial strain used is preferably a strain which decreases in or is deficient in an activity of an enzyme catalyzing a reaction branching from a pathway for L-glutamic acid biosynthesis and producing a compound other than L-glutamic acid, or a strain which increase in an activity of an enzyme catalyzing a reaction for L-glutamic acid biosynthesis.

摘要： A specific reflection area 42 on a paper surface 37a is irradiated with light from a light source 41 via nor not via a lens 43. A photoelectric conversion element 44 is placed on a focal surface in the rearward of the lens 43 and out of the light reflected (including scattering light and diffusion light) from the reflection area 42 on the paper surface 37a, only the whole light reflected within a predetermined angular range is received by the photoelectric conversion element 44 via the lens 43. The density of the image formed on the paper surface 37a is measured from the light reception output. When the paper surface 37a is irradiated with light from the light source 41 via the lens 43, the light source 41 is placed backward from the focal surface 43b in the rearward of the lens 43.

摘要： An ultrasonic transducer assembly includes a transducer unit having an array transducer composed of a plurality of transducer elements for transmitting and receiving ultrasonic waves to effect electronic scanning, and a casing for housing the transducer unit therein. The casing has a contact surface to be brought into contact with an object to be examined when used. In the casing there is disposed a rocking mechanism for rocking the transducer unit angularly about a virtual rotative axis which is determined on an electronic scanning plane produced by the array transducer and located in the vicinity of the contact portion of the casing. The rocking mechanism includes a pair of guide members having arc-shaped guide routes concentrically arranged with the virtual rotative axis as its center, linking members for linking the transducer unit with the guide members in such a way that the transducer unit can be rocked angularly about the virtual rotative axis; and a driving mechanism for reciprocatingly moving the transducer unit along the arc-shaped guide routes through the linking members. In this transducer assembly, a three-dimensional echo data acquiring region of which apex is located on the virtual rotative axis can be produced based on the shift of the electronic scanning plane which is effected by the rocking movement of the transducer unit.
