    • PURPOSE:To easily and efficiently remove nitrate ions and/or nitrite ions from raw water by a simple device and to obtain the treated water having high quality of water by providing arm inflow port for raw water and an outflow port for treated water at a treated room partitioned with a membrane and providing an inflow port for hydrogen imparting body and an outflow port at a denitration room. CONSTITUTION:In order to treat the raw water in the denitration device, the raw water in a raw water tank 11 is introduced into the treating room 6 via a piping 12 and also an aqueous hydrogen imparting body solution in a storage tank 13 is introduced into the denitration room 7 by a piping 14. Hence the nitrate ions in the raw water is taken in an anion exchange membrane 3 together with other ions and besides move to the denitration room 7 side. The moved nitrate ions are reacted with denitration fungi and the hydrogen imparting body such as methanol, and discharged as gaseous nitrogen outside the system. Like this, the treated water removed the nitrate ions is discharged outside the system via a discharge pipe 2B and a piping 15, and the waste liquid consumed the hydrogen imparting body by the denitrogen reaction, is.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preventing generation of odors which is capable of effectively preventing malodors, such as hydrogen sulfide and methyl mercaptan, generated in respective processes from the generation of sludge slurries in sewer treatment plants, etc., (sludge thickener outlet), to sewage storage tanks, sludge hydroextractors and dewatering cake conveyance and storage facilities and the electric facility corrosion by the hydrogen sulfide and the apparatus corrosion by the sulfuric acid generated by the biological oxidation of the hydrogen sulfide. SOLUTION: The method of preventing the generation of the odors from the sludge by adding nitrite to the sludge in the sludge storage tank comprises changing the amount of the nitrite to be added so as to concentrically add the nitrite at frequencies of several times a day in the addition of the nitrite and maintaining the concentration of the residual nitrite ions of the sludge in the sludge storage tank after lapse of one hour from the end of each concentric addition at >=20 mg/l.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the outflow of fine calcium phosphate particles from a calcium phosphate crystallization reaction column and the formation of scale in the column, in an apparatus and method for treating phosphorus-containing water by removing and recovering phosphate groups in phosphorus-containing water as calcium phosphate. SOLUTION: In the phosphorus-containing water treatment apparatus equipped with a mixing tank for mixing phosphate group-containing water, a water soluble calcium compound and a pH controller and a crystallization reaction column having the introducing port of the outflow liquid of the mixing tank disposed at the lower part thereof and having a treated water outflow port disposed at the upper part thereof and housing seed crystals, a seed crystal return means for returning seed crystals in the crystallization reaction column to the mixing tank is provided. In the phosphorus-containing water treatment method, phosphate group-containing water, the water soluble calcium compound and the pH controller are mixed in the presence of seed crystals in the mixing tank to be introduced into the lower part of the crystallization reaction column and treated water is allowed to flow out of the upper part of the reaction column and the seed crystals in the crystallization reaction column are returned to the mixing tank.
