摘要： A method for using non-addressable memory of a computer system is disclosed. Any system memory above an addressable memory limit of a computer system (i.e., non-addressable memory) is initially converted to a disk cache by a hypervisor. In response to a read request, the hypervisor intercepts the read request, and then sends the data for the read request from the disk cache to a read requestor if the data for the read request is available in the disk cache. In response to a write request, the hypervisor intercepts the write request, and then writes the data for the write request to the disk cache and updating corresponding disk cache tables.

摘要： An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for buffering write data. A motion sensor module senses the motion of a motion-sensitive storage device. A direction module writes data to a buffer if the motion exceeds a threshold motion. The direction module further writes the data to the motion-sensitive storage device if the motion does not exceed the threshold motion. In one embodiment, a write module writes the data from the buffer to the motion-sensitive storage device when the motion does not exceed the threshold motion.

Then, instruct a client at the maximum speed to interface with the at least one client to provide a peer-to-peer connection wherein the maximum speed client acts as an access point for the at least one client.

摘要： A method and system for providing diagonal scrolling on a touchpad of a device is disclosed. The method and system comprises determining if at least one finger is in contact with the touchpad, and entering a diagonal scroll mode if more than one finger is in contact with the touchpad. A system and method in accordance with the present invention allows the user to initiate a diagonal scroll at any location on a touchpad by using two fingers, thereby greatly enhancing the functions of the touchpad and allowing the user to manipulate computer programs from the touchpad much more efficiently and easily. The present invention supports diagonal scrolling on a touchpad and does not require a precise location for vertical or horizontal scrolling, since the entire touchpad area/surface can be used. The system and method in accordance with the present invention will also operate correctly on existing touchpads when a change in software drivers has been carried out.

The access point is able to minimize the performance impact on 802.11g clients in the presence of mixed in 802.11g/802.11b traffic by isolating wireless network traffic based on protocol. At least one 802.11g timer is maintained for 802.11g traffic. Request for transfers by 802.11b clients which are blind to 802.11g traffic are delayed until after the expiration of the 802.11g timer. Traffic for 802.11g clients proceeds unimpeded while the 802.11g timer is active. A similar timer is optionally maintained for 802.11b traffic.

摘要： A security system for computers defines a control zone using radiation, preferably at radio frequency, having a distinctive characteristic, such as a particular frequency. The zone may be established, for example, at a door exit or other limited passage to a secured area. The radiation triggers a device in the computer that in turn sends out a serial number signal. To further prevent unauthorized removal a personal identification number is required of the person in the zone with the computer, either by key input or an encoded radio signal. A receiver located near the control zone applies the serial number to a table look up computer that triggers an emergency signal if a match to an authorized list of serial numbers for the computer and corresponding person does not occur. The emergency signal activates a transmitter that sends out an emergency radiation signal with a different distinctive characteristic. A second receiver in the computer then responds to the emergency radiation signal to trigger the security logic to render the computer inoperative.
