摘要： A machine for removing the hair from animal hides, comprises an upwardly open vat and a horizontal perforated plate arranged in the lower part of the vat and rotationally driven on a central pivot by suitable means. The plate is provided on its surface in contact with the material to be treated with sharp edges formed on the contour of said perforations, and bounded peripherally by a fixed perforated cylinder, defining with the inner wall of the vat a coronary space ensuring the removal of the hair stripped off and projected by centrifugal force into the openings of said cylinder.

摘要： The machine used a conveyor having twin parallel chains with transverse pivots on which are fixed spaced carriers for skins. Each carrier is in the form of a flat work table and skin is folded to saddle the leading edge of the table and trail back on opposite faces of the table. The table conveys the skin over a vertical run, upwards between rotary stripping cylinders. The table faces are covered by an endless belt which is given a limited longitudinal movement as the table passes between the stripping cylinders; this moves the unstripped, leading edge of skin on to one face of the table for stripping. The chain pivot fixings for each table are such that the table remains in the same plane as the chains on straight runs of the conveyor. As the chains pass around a pair of sprockets, the table leading edge moves radially outwards frm the sprockets' axis. This takes the leading edge clear of a skin-clamping roller which is tight against the leading edge on straight runs. Movement of the table belt is pref. obtained by fitting a toothed pinion on the front roller of the belt and arranging for the opinion to engage a short length of rack as the table passes the stripping cylinders.
