    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe column driving device for building which allows a workman to drive a column while he remains in the under-position. SOLUTION: A locking body 4 to be locked with the top of a column (a) is secured by an upper bolt pin to a rod 1 in its part nearer the top, wherein the rod 1 is some shorter than the column (a) to be driven, while a stopper 6 is secured to a part nearer the bottom by a lower bolt pin, and a driving weight 11 is fitted slidably to the rod 1 situated between the locking body 4 and stopper 6. Thus a column driving device A for building is completed, wherein a cap 2 is fastened by an upper penetrating pin to the top of the rod situated over the locking body 4 while a specified spacing is reserved, and a lower holder member 8 is fastened by a lower penetrating pin to the bottom of the rod situated under the stopper 6 while a specified spacing is reserved.
