    • A non-rotating cement wiper plug has an insert, with inner and outer telescoping sleeves, within a resilient outer body. The outer body has annular fins which bear against a casing wall. The inner sleeve has a tapering nose within a tapered cavity in the outer sleeve. Slots in the outer sleeve form a plurality of segments. The inner and outer sleeves are preferably of a frangible material. When the plug is pumped down and lodges against downhole float equipment, pump pressure compresses the plug, forces the inner sleeve down within the outer sleeve, forces the segments radially outward, and fractures or separates the outer sleeve segments. The outer body is forced against the casing wall so tightly that it cannot rotate in response to the forces from a rotary drill bit. Lock surfaces on the inner and outer sleeves lock them together and maintain the outer body in its forced-outwardly position.

    • A vacuum tank (54) is used to suck slop over 100 feet from a basin attached to the well head (14) of an oil well. A vacuum is initiated in a vacuum tank by a vacuum pump (62) and maintained when liquid flows into the vacuum tank by pumping liquid from the vacuum tank into a holding tank (94). The liquid from the holding tank is transferred to a truck tank (96) by which it is carried to a place of disposal. The vacuum pump and liquid pump (86) attached to the vacuum tank are powered by a diesel engine (74) through a hydraulic power transmission system. The diesel engine is remotely controlled from the well-head area by a remote control (130) which operates a starting relay (142) at the diesel engine and also which regulates the speed between idle and operating speeds.

    • An annular drilling device is provided that employs an active or passive, stationary sealing element. More specifically, rotating annular drilling devices commonly used depend on externally pressurized sealing elements that are energized by wellhead pressure or hydraulic pressure to grip a rotating drill pipe and rotate with the drill string. Thus, a plurality of rotary seals and bearings must be used. Here, however, the passive or active sealing element is stationary, thereby eliminating the need for bearings, etc. The passive or active stationary sealing element is made of a low-friction material that contacts the drill pipe, creates a seal, and does not adversely affect drilling operations.

    • ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE There is provided a sealing assembly for a bearing assembly that supports a rotating tubing string that extends through the riser. The sealing assembly has a plurality of sealing elements. Each sealing element has a seal body having an inner sealing surface designed to seal against a tubular body. The sealing assembly also has one or more sleeves that removably attach between adjacent sealing elements. Adjacent sealing elements are attached to the one or more sleeves in axial alignment. A chamber is formed by the adjacent sealing elements and the corresponding sleeve. The sealing assembly further has a bearing attachment for attaching the plurality of modular sealing elements to a rotating portion of the bearing assembly such that the sealing elements extend downward in series from the bearing assembly and rotate with the rotating tubing string.
