摘要： An electronic cigarette vaporiser system including a piezo-electric pump that pumps e-liquid into an electronic vaporizer in which a sensor detects whether air or e-liquid is present in the liquid feed line into the piezo-electric pump and adjusts an operating parameter of the pump accordingly. The operating parameter that is adjusted can be the frequency of the actuators in the piezo-pump; it can be 300 Hz for air and 15 Hz for e-liquid. The frequency can also be adjusted in dependence on the viscosity or temperature of the e-liquid.

摘要： A container into which used sharps can be deposited immediately following their use and carried to a second container into which the used sharps can be dumped for subsequent disposal without having to directly handle the sharps following their use. A top wall is normally latched closed and is opened to deposit used sharps into the container. A normally closed end wall is opened so that the used sharps can be dumped from the container. The container has a pistol-type grip for carrying it, and in a first embodiment a rearwardly biased pusher is slidably mounted in the container and moved forwardly by depressing a trigger on the grip. In a second embodiment, the pusher is biased forwardly and is latched in a rearward position. The trigger is connected with the latch to release it so the pusher can move forwardly.

摘要： A latching mechanism includes a pusher member formed with an internal ring and being attached to a first object. A center post formed with a relief groove is secured to a release button and is connected to a second object. A slidable sleeve biased upwardly surrounds the center post and carries a pair of detent balls in a position to be alignable with the relief groove. The internal ring of the pusher member pushes the detent balls downwardly until the detent balls become aligned with the relief groove allowing the internal ring pass below the detent balls and thus latch the first and second objects together. Release is attained by pressing the release button to raise the center post into alignment with the detent balls to allow the internal ring to move past the detent balls and affect a release of the latching mechanism.
