    • PURPOSE:To produce a stabilizer useful for the suspension system of a vehicle with high productivity, by spirally winding a hollow resin-impregnated reinforcing fiber laminate onto a mandrel having a desired profile, curing the resin with a heat, and cutting the reinforcing fiber laminate at a desired position. CONSTITUTION:A hollow resin-impregnated reinforcing fiber laminate (hereinunder abbreviated as ''FRP laminate'') is wound onto a mandrel 10, which has a profile at its upper and lower parts corresponding to the curved configulation of an objective stabilizer 1 and which is provided with a spiral continuous groove 12 at its periphery along the continuous groove 12. Thereafter, a divisible outside die 13 provided at its inner surface with a continuous groove 14 corresponding to the continuous groove 12 of the mandrel 10 is telescoped onto the mandrel 10. In this state, the FRP laminate 4 is heated and cured while applying an internal pressure to the cavity inside the FRP laminate 4. After cured, the FRP laminate 4 at the side of the mandrel 10 is cut at a proper position. Thus, a plurality of stabilizer 1 can be produced at once.

    • PURPOSE:To facilitate complex bending work without forming of burrs in a product, by inserting an elastic pipe, onto which a fiber-reinforced composite is wound, into a metal pipe provided with vents, and bending the elastic pipe while applying an internal pressure to the pipe. CONSTITUTION:A fiber-reinforeced composite 7 is wound onto the periphery of a pipe 6 made of an expansible elastic material, e.g., rubber, a synthetic reisn or the like, and sealed at its one end, and inserted into a metal pipe 9 provided with vents 8 distributed at proper positions, to form a pipe-form blank 10. Pressurized air, a pressurized liquid, a thermally expansible material or the like, for instance, is packed into the pipe-form blank 10 through the open end of the elastic material-made pipe 6, to apply an internal pressure to the pipe 6. In this state, the pipe 6 is bent into a desired shape by a pipe bender 11 or a press, and then heated to cure the fiber-reinforced composite 7. After the forming work is completed, the pipe 6 may be pulled out to make lightweight product.
