    • The invention relates to the coating and shaping of strand-shaped metallic material by drawing, wherein lubricants in solid to liquid state are used. The invention enables high-performance shaping and substantially reduces the number of equipment involved while solving sealing problems in lubricants and improving several technological parameters in the shaping and coating process depending on the material being shaped. According to the invention, the material (1) to be shaped is coated with lubricant by means of a double chamber arrangement consisting of a low-pressure lubricant chamber (2) and a high-pressure lubricant chamber (3) attached thereto and shaped with the working drawing dies (5; 6) available on the outlets of the chambers. The low pressure chamber (2) is filled with solid to pasty lubricant (8) by means of a lubricant feeding device (7) and a low pressure is externally applied to said chamber. A high pressure of the lubricant is built up in the high pressure chamber (3) by the coated material (1) to be shaped entering said chamber. A combined lubricant pressure-lubricant temperature is regulated in such a way that the lubricant (9) is available in solid to liquid state. The invention is particularly useful in wire drawing.
