摘要： The present invention provides a microwavable Phase Change Material and product thereof, particularly, the present invention relates to the field of microwave heating and use of microwave susceptor for providing heat to Phase Change Material. The invention provides a new process for preparing improved Phase Change Material which can be heated in a domestic microwave oven. The inventive composition comprises of a microwave susceptor which helps the Phase Change Material to melt within a few minutes depending upon the quantity of Phase Change Material taken. Microwave susceptor is at first uniformly mixed with some other material. The other material may be a highly conductive material, or a slow susceptor. Then this composite is incorporated in a Phase Change Material. This susceptor composite initiates uniform melting of Phase Change Material when exposed to microwave irradiation. This microwavable Phase Change Material is free of sparking, arcing and local overheating.

摘要： The present invention relates to a life cradle device for the purpose of inducing therapeutic hypothermia in neonates suffering from birth asphyxia. The device essentially consists of a rigid outer skeleton which could be fitted with removable mattresses containing form stable organic phase change materials effecting instant and sustained cooling. Multiple compartments of different phase change material composition functional at different temperatures are arranged in layers to replicate cooling performances as in conventional cascading systems. The device is also designed to have thermo-chromic indicators with an option of probes for automation control techniques. The device may also be fitted with thermostat controlled infant radiant warmer to automatically switch on when the infant is cooled down below requirement as a safety consideration.

The thermal management pads contain a heat-absorbing material that can be heated or cooled, for example in a microwave oven or a refrigerator, to apply heat or cold therapy to the breasts. Some embodiments comprise separable nipple soothers that can be heated or cooled to a different temperature so that the nipples can receive different temperature therapy than the bulk of the breast. Some embodiments facilitate the use of a mechanical breast pump while the thermal therapy is underway. Features of an embodiment allow a patient to wear the garment in a variety of ways in addition to around the neck (e.g., around the waist).

摘要： A temperature controlled cosmetic treatment facial mask with area-specific treatments of the present invention includes a substantially planar mask body which is formed with cut-outs for a person's eyes, nose, and mouth. The mask may include a number of large and small area treatment zones in combination with asymmetrical treatment zones suitable for treatment of specific and localized skin conditions. The treatments zones are coated with skin treatments, such as compounds, lotions, gels, and the like as are known in the facial treatment, cosmetics, spa and medical industry. The mask may include a self-heating or cooling substrate to provide temperature control to the face mask and each mask may include heating areas, cooling areas, or both. A system is also provided that includes an imaging device that feeds its output to a central computer system having an image analyzer, CPU, memory and Look Up Table, and face map for determining specific treatment requirements for the particular patient. An output from the central computer system is provided to a treatment deposition device which deposits various treatments onto an intermediate membrane layer to generate a custom temperature controlled facial mask with area-specific treatments for that particular patient.

The bearing element, which is preferably of lava rock, steatite and/or some other natural stone, is provided on the treatment surface (2), with a number of therapeutic units (12) which comprise at least one product from the following group: a semi-precious stone, a precious stone, a precious metal, copper. The heat coming out of the natural stone penetrates deeply into the body. The therapeutic units (12) provide additional effects in the human body, so that a very extensive and efficient treatment with lasting effect becomes possible. The device preferably comprises at least one infrared radiation element and a superstructure (6) with a mirror-like or reflective wall which in a use position provides a roof over the treatment surface (2).

Attaching straps have hook and loop material thereon for attaching the first and second glove halves for removably attaching a therapeutic glove over a person's hand. The therapeutic glove allows a person to exercise the muscles of the hands, fingers, and wrists by movement against the resistance of clay while applying heat or cold to a person's hand.

摘要： A therapeutic pad is formed from a container having elongate compartments arranged in parallel relationship across the width of the container and extending substantially across the full length of the container. The container is formed from a fabric material which is permeable to moisture but contains the filler material which is sand. The compartments are filled with the sand. The use of sand allows moisture to be applied to the container which will then be held within the interstices of the sand for either heating by microwave or cooling by freezing. A separate cover is formed from a quilted padded fabric material shaped to double the size of the container so that it can be folded to cover both sides of the container. One half of the cover includes a moisture impermeable layer to prevent the escape of moisture from that side while the other side allows the escape of moisture. This allows the user choice of applying either moist heat or dry heat to the body of the patient.
