摘要： A method and system for routing service calls made from lines resold to a competitive service provider includes advanced intelligent network and standard switching functionality. The call may be made into an AIN service switching point (60) or a non-AIN switch (62-64). All calls are routed to an AIN hub (190), such as a service switching point, via a trunk group. The AIN or non-AIN switch may access a line class code table (160-164) to determine the proper routing information. Calls made from resold lines are routed to the AIN hub (190). Once the call is routed to the AIN hub, a trigger (187) provisioned on the AIN hub and assigned to the incoming trunk group causes the hub to suspend the call and launch a query to a service control point (200). The query includes the directory number of the resold calling line and the originally dialed number. The SCP (670) accesses a data-base (675) containing directory numbers for resold lines and identifiers for competitive service providers. Once the carrier is located, additional tables may be accessed to determine the routing information specified by the carrier for handling the call. The routing information is transmitted by the SCP (670) back to the SSP (610). The SSP (610) then routes the call to the specified location.

In an embodiment of the present invention, an analyst or automated system creates a command to instruct a network element to mirror a port to another network element in communication with the frame relay network. In one embodiment, the analyst troubleshoots a communication link between two network elements by creating two port mirror commands, transmitting the commands to the network elements, and then monitoring subsequent communications between the elements. Various analytical tools may be available to the analyst to receive data and to help diagnose problems and potential problems within the frame relay network.

摘要： An information retrieval system is described that dynamically prioritizes search request results prior to output to a user. When a database search yields multiple hits, the results are first categorized into a series of groups. Categories are determined from any number of different factors, such as geographical locations of the search results, amenities, hours of operation, etc. For each category, the search results can be parsed into groups within the category. The results are first reported to the user in general terms, as a number of search results in each of the groups. The user is prompted to select the group that is of most interest, and the portion of the individual search results that are within the selected group are reported.

摘要： A cookie management system serves as a central storage location on the Internet for information and other data on users. A user's machine contains a cookie having a key and the cookie management system associates user information with this key. Upon receiving a request from a user, a web site retrieves the key from the user's machine and queries the cookie management system for the user information. The cookie management system retrieves the data associated with the key and returns the user information to the site. The sites therefore do not need to store information on all users nor do they need to place their own cookies on the user's machine. If sites obtain more data about a user during an interaction, the sites send this data to the cookie management system which updates its database. The user's machine may contain multiple cookies that correspond to different people and the site can prompt the user to select the appropriate one. The cookies may correspond to the same user and specify different amounts or categories of information. The user preferably supplies a password to enable sites to access their data from the cookie management system.
