    • An apparatus for printing a printing material on a substrate, such as a printed circuit board includes: a squeegee which extends in a first direction parallel to a plane screen and which slides on the screen to squeeze the printing material into through-holes of the screen; and an outlet-defining member which is opposed to the squeegee and which cooperates with the squeegee to define an elongate printing-material outlet. A printing-material container has a printing-material chamber which extends parallel to the printing-material outlet, has a length substantially equal to a length of the outlet and communicates with the outlet over a substantially entire length thereof. A printing-material thrust member is provided in the printing-material chamber such that the printing-material thrust member is substantially fluid-tightly movable relative to the printing-material container. A container moving device moves the printing-material container relative to the screen in a second direction parallel to the screen and perpendicular to the first direction.

    • A method and an apparatus for automatically mounting, on printed circuit boards, non-lead electronic components which are stored mutually independently within a multiplicity of apertures equally spaced longitudinally in a strip member and is covered with a covering tape. The covering tape is separated first by a covering tape separating assembly from the strip member so as to uncover a leading one of the apertures. A leading portion of the strip member including the uncovered leading aperture is cut off the strip member by a severing assembly consecutively. A plurality of the leading portions cut off the strip members respectively storing different kinds of components are arranged on a transfer element of a transfer assembly in a desired order and transferred to a fixed position by the transfer member. Each component stored in the cut-off leading portions is picked up, transferred and mounted on a printed circuit board one by one. The uncovered and cut-off leading portion is utilized as a part of the transfer assembly.

    • Method and a system for inserting electronic components. The system is composed of an electronic-component inserting machine for inserting electronic components to a printed circuit board and an electronic-component supplying machine, which comprises a plurality of cartridges, being two kinds according to the radial and axial type of the electronic components, for containing each kind of electronic components, detachably attached to a table. The method and system are characterized in being capable of supplying components free-selectively, of radial and axial type and of different lead wire gage, in a desired order, regardless of arbitrary supply arrangement of electronic components, with a single system. While the electronic components of desired type and gage are inserted, the then non-desired type and gage of electronic components are automatically suspended from being supplied in the same system.
