    • The embodiments herein relate to a method in a network node (301) for handling scheduling of a wireless device (305) in a communications network (300). The network node (301) is adapted to communicate wirelessly with the wireless device (305) over a radio channel (310).     • According to one aspect of the teachings herein, a set of rules for transmitting Downlink Control information (DO) messages containing Transmit Power Control (TPC) commands is known to a wireless communication network (10) and to any number of wireless devices (20) supported by network (10). A device (20) receiving a given TPC DO message knows the uplink channel(s) to which the received TPC command(s) are to be applied based on interpreting the given TPC DCI message according to the known rules. The rules may be defined as internal within the DO format, such as bits, states or code points. Additionally, or alternatively, the rules may be defined according to external attributes for DO message transmission, such as whether the DCI message is transmitted on a Physical Downlink Control Channel, "PDCCH" or on an enhanced PDCCH, "ePDCCH".

The user equipment (501) may initiate a timing advance value to zero during a creation of a timing advance group, a modification of a timing advance group, or if a TAC MAC CE command has not been performed. The user equipment (501) may further update the timing advance value based on a received TAC MAC CE command. Some of the example embodiments presented herein are directed towards a base station, and corresponding method therein, for uplink timing alignment. The base station (401) may be configured to estimate a proximity of the user equipment (501) to an uplink receive or an uplink cell size of the user equipment. The base station may determine a TAC MAC CE based on the estimation and send the TAC MAC CE to the user equipment (501 ) for uplink timing alignment.

    • A method in a network node for transmitting control information to a user equipment in a telecommunications system is provided. The control information is scheduled in time intervals of a downlink shared data channel, wherein the control information is allocated resource elements in resource blocks of a time-frequency Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing, OFDM, grid in the time intervals in which the control information is scheduled. The network node determines for a time interval, a set of user equipments for which control information is scheduled in the time interval. Also, it selects for a user equipment comprised in the determined set of user equipments, at least one group of user equipments amongst one or more groups of user equipments to which the user equipment is assigned. It also prepares a group signal corresponding to the selected one group of user equipments by allocating resource elements in the resource blocks of the time interval to the group signal. Furthermore, the network node transmits the prepared group signal in the allocated resource element in the time interval to the user equipment such that the user equipment is enabled to determine whether the control information that is allocated resource elements in the time interval is intended for the user equipment or not. A network node, a method in user equipment and a user equipment are also provided.
