An input knowledge checking function which also utilizes the metaknowledge makes reference to metaknowledge to look for constraint related to the input knowledge, and evaluates whether it is satisfied or not. These utilization functions make it possible to keep the justification and consistency of knowledge acquired.

摘要： A method for precisely and effectively determining an asphaltene content in a heavy hydrocarbon oil which can be applicable to a wider range of asphaltene content is disclosed. The method comprises measuring absorbances of a sample solution having dispersed therein asphaltene particles at two different wavelengths being at a distance of at least 50 nm selected from the visible light range of from 500 to 1,000 nm and obtaining an asphaltene content from the two measured values utilizing a relationship. A device is also disclosed for determining asphaltene content in a sample solution. It includes dipping a means for determining the absorbances at two different wavelengths into each probes which are in a line, or connecting the means into a flow cell and passing the sample solution through the flow cell to determine the absorbances.

摘要： An extraction residue obtained by solvent deasphalting of a residual oil is mixed with a carrier gas and thermally cracked at a temperature of 400.degree. C. to 600.degree. C. in a tube-type cracking apparatus to obtain cracked oil and pitch. The use of the carrier gas, which may be either an inert gas such as nitrogen or a reactive gas such as hydrogen, permits a flow velocity through the cracking apparatus sufficient to substantially prevent coking. Preferably, the cracking conditions are controlled so that the yield of cracked oil is not more than about 30 to 35%.
