    • A radio frequency tuning system and method. A tuner circuit selectively tunes to only a radio frequency signal of a specific frequency channel among radio frequency signals received through an antenna. A key input unit inputs channel up/down commands so that the corresponding radio frequency channels can be tuned by the tuner circuit. A microcomputer functions to, when the channel up/down commands are successively inputted through the key input unit, send only PLL data based on the last inputted one of the inputted channel up/down commands to the tuner circuit. Therefore, it is possible to eliminate a stabilization time required for every key operation of a radio receiver user so as to perform a faster channel search operation in an auto channel search mode.

    • A lamp device for eliminating a blind spot in an automotive vehicle. A lamp member is received, at a predetermined location, in a side panel of a vehicle body. A drive member pivots the lamp member by a predetermined angle. A control member has a lamp control part for controlling the lamp member and a drive control part for controlling the drive member. The lamp member includes an illumination lamp controlled by a signal generated in the lamp control part, and a reflection mirror mounted to be positioned behind the illumination lamp. A turn signal lamp is combined to one surface of the lamp member. The lamp control part is actuated in a manner interlocked with operation of the drive member. The drive control part includes a driving motor for pivoting the lamp member by the predetermined angle, and a motor control portion for controlling the driving motor.

    • A variable capacity rotary compressor is designed to prevent eccentric bushes from slipping during a compression operation, thus preventing noise from being generated and increasing durability. The compressor includes a housing to define two compression chambers having different capacities therein. A rotating shaft is rotated in the compression chambers. Two eccentric cams are mounted to the rotating shaft. Two eccentric bushes are rotatably fitted over the eccentric cams. Two rollers are rotatably fitted over the eccentric bushes. Two vanes are installed in the compression chambers to be reciprocated in a radial direction of the rotating shaft. A cylindrical connecting part integrally connects the eccentric bushes to each other, with a locking slot being provided around the connecting part. A locking pin is mounted to the rotating shaft to project from the rotating shaft, and is locked by either of opposite ends of the locking slot, according to a rotating direction of the rotating shaft, thus making one of the eccentric bushes eccentric from the rotating shaft while making a remaining one of the eccentric bushes be released from eccentricity from the rotating shaft. A restraining unit outwardly moves from the rotating shaft by a centrifugal force when the rotating shaft is rotated, to restrain the connecting part.

    • A self-excited microelectromechanical device is described. The device includes a resonating structure, such as a cantilever, which responds to a physical phenomenon by generating an induced variable frequency voltage signal corresponding to the physical phenomenon. Self-excitation circuitry connected to the cantilever processes the induced variable frequency voltage signal and produces a variable frequency voltage signal in a resonant pass band of interest that is applied to the cantilever to augment the effect of the physical phenomenon on the cantilever. An exemplary use of the device is as a power line sensor. In this context, the cantilever responds to the electric field associated with a power signal on a power line. The cantilever transforms the voltage signal of the electric field into a corresponding frequency signal. The noise-immune frequency signal can be readily processed to reconstruct the power signals carried by the power line.
