    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light diffusing device capable of moving a light diffusing material in the surface direction of a screen while saving energy required for moving the light diffusing material and suppressing diffusion unevenness of the light diffusing material on the entire screen.
      SOLUTION: A first electrode 37 made of a plurality of segment electrodes 37a-37c is disposed on the entering surface side of a light diffusing layer 40. A second electrode 38 made of a plurality of segment electrodes 38a-38c is disposed on the outgoing surface side of the light diffusing layer 40. Voltages are applied between the first electrode 37 and the second electrode 38 so that a change of returning to a first state in which voltages of different polarities are applied to the first segment electrode 37a included in the first electrode 37 and to the second segment electrode 38a included in the second electrode 38 and not normally facing the first segment electrode 37a through the first state and a second state in which an electric field having reverse vector components to the vector components in the surface direction of an electric field generated in the first state is generated.

The screen 18 constituted of a screen part 12 formed in a part of the dispersion liquid enclosing member 1, a lenticular lens 33 and a light diffusion plate 3 functions as the screen for image projection.
