摘要： An apparatus that includes a recording head having a plurality of recording elements arranged in a first direction is scanningly moved relative to a recording material in a second direction which is different from the first direction. The apparatus includes a motor driver for scanningly moving the recording head to the recording material in the second direction and a CPU/MPU for controlling driving of the recording head such that while scanningly moving the recording head in the second direction, the recording is effected such that a recording band region which extends into a second region and which is recorded using part of a continuous recording element and a non-recording band region which is not recorded, appears alternately, and by a different scanning movement, the non-recording band region is recorded. The recording band region and the non-recording band region have the same size.

摘要： A construction of a printing apparatus wherein a printing registration with respect to forward and reverse scans of a printing head and a printing registration with respect to a plurality of printing heads are automatically carried out is realized without rendering the apparatus complex or causing its production cost to rise. To this end, the optical sensor for measuring patterns formed for use in printing registration is also used to serve other purposes such as a detection of a printing home position or a detection of a printing medium's end. Furthermore, by appropriately controlling a single optical sensor according to each of various intended purposes, the optimum characteristics are utilized in each respective operating mode. Because of the above, the addition of sensors to be used only for the purpose of printing registration and the accompanying rise of the print apparatus production cost are restrained.

摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus performs recording by supplying heat energy according to driving pulses to an ink to form a bubble based on film boiling, and ejecting the ink from a recording head onto a recording medium on the basis of formation of the bubble. The apparatus includes a driver and a driving pulse controller. The driver supplies the driving pulses, comprised of a plurality of pulses including a main pulse for causing the ink to be ejected, to the recording head for each ejection of the ink. The driving pulse controller controls an amount of the ink to be ejected, by changing a waveform of the driving pulses supplied by the driver during a recording operation. The driving pulse controller limits energy of the main pulse in accordance with a start timing of the film boiling which is variable according to a change in waveform of pulses other than the main pulse.

摘要： A head for discharging yellow ink, magenta ink, cyan ink and first black ink having a relatively fast penetration velocity to a recording medium and a head for discharging second black ink having a relatively low penetration velocity are used to print an image. When a black image is adjacent to a color image, the black image is formed by using the first black ink, and when the black image is not adjacent to the color image, the black image is formed by using the second black ink. A black ink and a plurality of color inks having a different penetration velocity to a recording medium than that of the black ink are also used to print an image. Whether a color image area is present in the vicinity of a black image area of record data or not is determined, and whether the black image area is to be formed by the black ink or by the color inks is decided in accordance with the determination result, and when the black image is to be formed by the color inks, the color inks are used based on a mask pattern pseudo-randomly prepared to make the change in tonality less recognizable.

Using the placed masks, record data is thinned-out and supplied to a recording head. An image is then recorded. 摘要： In an image processing device for recording images with Y, M, and C color ink, a received Bk image is recorded with a color more similar to an original black color and solves a problem caused by too much amount of ejected ink such as bleeding with other colors or feathering. An image data consisting of four color elements of YMCBk is entered from a host computer, a Bk conversion unit converts the Bk element to respective Y, M, and C elements by masking of respective Y, M, and C elements generated randomly for the entered Bk element image data, and an image synthesizing unit synthesizes the converted YMC elements with the entered YMC elements. Then, an image recording unit for forming an image with three colors of YMC forms an image based on the synthesized YMC elements and records the image on a recording medium with ejecting YMC ink from a recording head.
