摘要： The present invention relates to acicular hematite particles containing aluminum of 0.05 to 50% by weight, calculated as Al, having an average major axial diameter of not more than 0.3 .mu.m and a pH value of the particles of not less than 8, and containing soluble sodium salts of not more than 300 ppm soluble sodium, calculated as Na, and soluble sulfates of not more than 150 ppm soluble sulfate, calculated as SO.sub.4, which have an excellent dispersibility in a binder resin, and a magnetic recording medium which uses the hematite particles as non-magnetic particles for a non-magnetic undercoat layer, which has small light transmittance, smooth surface, high strength and high durability, and which is capable of suppressing the deterioration in the magnetic properties caused by a corrosion of the magnetic particles containing as a main ingredient in the magnetic recording layer.

The titanium oxide particles of the present invention are suitable as non-magnetic particles for a non-magnetic undercoat layer of a magnetic recording medium which uses magnetic particles containing iron as a main ingredient, and even more particularly, are suitable as non-magnetic particles for a non-magnetic undercoat layer of a magnetic recording medium which uses magnetic particles containing iron as a main ingredient, show an excellent dispersibility in a binder resin, contain only a small amount of soluble sodium salt and soluble sulfate, and have a pH value of not less than 8.

摘要： A method for producing a formed product of deproteinized natural rubber latex capable of reducing a content of an allergen in a natural rubber latex material to a level sufficient to keep the latex from being harmful to the human body without decreasing yields of the product and deteriorating formability of the latex. In the method, cleaning removal of a non-rubber content is carried out after each of protein decomposition, prevulcanization and forming. An aqueous alkali solution, ammonia, water containing free chlorine in an amount of 0.005 to 0.02% by weight or alcohol-water mixed liquid containing alcohol in an amount of 5 to 80% by weight is used as cleaning liquid for the cleaning removal. The method is suitably applied to production of a natural rubber product such as a rubber glove, a condom, a catheter, a foam rubber material and the like.

摘要： A hollow extruding die for extruding a hollow section of a zinc-containing aluminum alloy is provided. The die is protected from cracks and has an extended life, without requiring any substantial structural changes to the die. In the die mandrel of the die a mandrel is connected by bridges with an outer cylindrical member. The bridges have a tapered projection facing toward the mandrel. A 3 mm thick coating composed of a nickel alloy is bonded on the surface of the projection by padding the welding material. Instead of coating the bridges, a covering can be attached to the surface of the bridges. To receive the covering, an engaging groove extends from the root of the mandrel and along the surface of the bridges to the outer cylindrical member of the die mandrel. The covering is composed of the same steel material as that of the die or of the nickel alloy. The covering has a through hole for receiving the mandrel formed on the base. At the opposite sides of the through hole, the covering has projecting portions that are disposed parallel to the mandrel and the covering is tapered along the bridges.

摘要： A polyprenyl composition consisting essentially of a mixture of polyprenyl compounds represented by the following formula ##STR1## wherein A.sub.1 represents a hydroxyl or acetyloxy group, ##STR2## represents a trans-isoprene unit, ##STR3## represents a cis-isoprene unit, and n is an integer of from 11 to 19, said mixture containing substantial amounts of at least three compounds of formula (I) wherein n represents 14, 15 and 16 respectively as essential ingredients in a total amount of at least 70% by weight based on the weight of the mixture; and new compounds derived from the polyprenyl compounds of formula (I). These composition and compounds are useful for the synthesis of mammalian dolichols. The polyprenyl composition can be prepared by extracting the leaves of Ginkgo biloba or Cedrus deodara with an oil-soluble organic solvent; if required, hydrolyzing the extract; and subjecting the extract to one or more of chromatography, fractional dissolution, fractional refrigerating precipitation and molecular distillation, thereby separating and recovering a fraction having a specified Rf value in silica thin-layer chromatography.
