    • The present invention is directed to an image forming apparatus including a supply unit configured to supply a sheet, a recording unit configured to perform recording by discharging a plurality of colors of inks onto the sheet, a reading unit configured to read out an image of the sheet, a drying unit configured to dry the sheet on which recording is provided by the recording unit, and a control unit configured to perform control so as to record an inspection pattern onto the sheet by the recording unit and so as to readout the inspection pattern of the sheet by the reading unit after the sheet on which the inspection pattern is recorded passes through the drying unit in order to acquire inspection data of the inspection pattern of the sheet.

    • A wavefront is measured with superior precision even if the density of scatterers in the vicinity of a focal plane is low. Provided is a wavefront measurement method including a contrast measuring step of measuring the contrast of an interference pattern corresponding to each part of a specimen containing a scatterer, generated by interfering reference light and return light from a focal plane in the specimen; a region extracting step of extracting a high-contrast region in which the contrast measured in the contrast measuring step is greater than or equal to a prescribed threshold; and a wavefront calculating step of converting an interference pattern corresponding to the high-contrast region to wavefront data, for the high-contrast region extracted in the region extracting step.

    • An ink jet recording apparatus includes a recording head, an ink tank, and two ink routes. The recording head is mounted on a carriage moving along a recording surface of a recording medium and discharges ink and thereby performs recording on the recording medium. The ink tank is disposed inside the recording apparatus and stores ink to be supplied to the recording head. The two ink routes connect the ink tank and the recording head and are capable of circulating ink between the ink tank and the recording head. One of the ink routes is an ink supply path that supplies ink from the ink tank to the recording head, and the other ink route is an ink reflux path that returns ink from the head to the ink tank. The ink reflux path is capable of being fluidly connected to and disconnected from the recording head.
