    • PURPOSE:To remove scale from the surface of a continuously traveling long- sized steel strip by pickling in a short time with a short-sized pickling tank by dividing the tank into two tanks in the traveling direction of the strip and allowing a pickling soln. to flow through a specified path in the tanks. CONSTITUTION:A pickling tank is divided into an inlet side pickling tank 2a and an outlet side pickling tank 2b with a partition plate 10 and a steel strip 1 to be descaled is continuously traveled from the tank 2a to the tank 2b by guide rolls 4a-4e. An acid soln. 3 having 11% acid concn. is fed to the inlet side tank 2a through a feed pipe 5 to dissolve scale by pickling. After the acid concn. lowers to 7%, the acid soln. is drawn out of the rear part of the tank 2a through a pipe 7 and blown into the outlet side tank 2b by a pump 8 from the rear end through a pipe 9 so that the soln. flows counter to the strip 1. The soln. is finally drawn out of the front part of the tank 2b through a pipe 6 as an acid soln. having about 3% acid concn. Thus, scale can be removed from the strip 1 in a short time with the short-sized pickling tank.

    • PURPOSE:To provide the titled roll which maintains a uniform temp. over the entire part of the roll and prevents the thermal deformation thereof by providing plural pieces of heat pipes in the roll axis direction in a shell and providing annular grooves connecting both ends of said heat pipes to each other in the shell. CONSTITUTION:Plural pieces of the heat pipes 18 are provided in the roll shell 4 along the roll axis direction thereof and these pipes 18 are connected to each other by grooves 19 provided in the inner circumferential direction. The shell 4 is heated by a heater 5. Internal working fluid flows back and forth between the pipes 18 and maintains the pipes 18 respectively at the same temp. and the same pressure according to the above-mentioned constitution; in addition, the pipes 18 are respectively maintained at and under the same temp. and pressure and the respective pipes 18 are maintained at and under the same temp. and pressure over the entire length thereof. As a result, the temp. over the entire surface of the roll is uniformized. The thermal deformation of the roll is, therefore, prevented, by which the rupture of a steel strip and the flawing of the plated surfaces thereof are prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent uneven plating and to reduce the electric power consumption by jetting a plating solution in parallel with a steel strip running between confronted electrodes, and moreover by jetting the plating liquid from cushion nozzles having bypath flow passages. CONSTITUTION:A steel strip 5 is run through between the confronted electrodes 2, 2 in a electrolyzing tank 1, and a voltage is impressed between the electrodes 2 and the steel strip 5 to apply electric plating on the surface of the steel strip 5. In the above-mentioned electric plating device, the plating solution is jetted in parallel with the steel strip 5 as well as in the reverse direction to the running direction of the steel strip 5 into the flow passage between the electrode 2 and the steel strip 5 by nozzle 12. Moreover, the plating solution is jetted to the steel strip 5 through headers 7 from slits 6 of the cushion nozzles. Bypath flow passages 11 are provided to the rear side of the cushion nozzles to promote the passing of the plating solution. By such means, the metallic ion supplying speed to the surface of the steel strip 5 is increased to eliminate weak plating part, and the contact of the electrodes 2 with the steel strip 5 is perfectly prevented, which permit-closer positioning of both.

    • PURPOSE:To control pickling time on the spot without changing the traveling speed of a material to be pickled by supplying an acid liquid through pipes respectively independently provided with 3-way valves to nozzles respectively disposed in plural pieces of ducts and changing the number of the dusts in which the acid liquid is passed. CONSTITUTION:A steel strip 1 which is the material to be pickled is run in the plural ducts 5a-5d of a continuous pickling device. The nozzles 7a-7d for injecting the acid liquid 3 for pickling and air pipings 10a-10d for purging pickling are respectively disposed in the above-mentioned ducts 5a-5d. The acid liquid 3 in an acid tank 2 disposed thereunder is supplied to the above- mentioned nozzles 7a-7d by acid pumps 9a-9d and the acid liquid 3 after the ejection and pickling is dropped into the acid tank 2. The three-way valves 8a-8d are disposed to the acid liquid liquid pipings 6a-6d for supplying the acid liquid 3 and the pickling time is adequately controlled on the spot by changing over the flow passages thereof.

    • PURPOSE:To make the temp. distribution in the transverse direction of a band steel uniform, by providing plural pieces of electron beam heaters in one of differential pressure chambers on an inlet side of a band steel or in a vacuum deposition chamber in the transverse direction of the band steel. CONSTITUTION:A band steel 1 is let off from an un-coiler 1' and is introduced through a pretreatment installation 2 and differential pressure chambers 3, 4, 5,- into a vapor deposition chamber 6. Plating metal is vapor deposited on the bottom surface of the steel 1 in the chamber 6, and the band steel is coiled on a recoiler 11 after it is passed through differential pressure chambers 8, 9,- and a post treatment installation 10. An electron beam heater 13 disposed with plural electron beam guns in the transverse direction of the steel 1 is equipped in a differential pressure chamber 12 on the inlet side of the steel 1 in this stage, and the outputs of the individual electron beams are controlled discretely while the steel 1 passes through the chamber 12 so that the temp. in the transverse direction of the steel 1 is made uniform. The uneven plating in the stage of vapor deposition is thus prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To recover a molten salt without the danger of explosion, by changing the molten salt-contg. washing water formed during recovering the solid heat through a molten salt into fine drops, and bringing the fine drops into direct contact with the high-temperature molten salt on the free surface of the liquefied molten salt. CONSTITUTION:After a high-temperature solid matter 1 is immersed in a molten salt cell 2 to transmit its heat to the molten salt 3 of lower temperature, it is fed to a washing water cell 4 where the molten salt adherent to its surface is washed off during its running through washing water 8, and then fed to the following step. New washing water is supplied through a line 5 to the cell 4, while the molten salt-contg. washing water 8 is withdrawn through a line 7 to a pump 9, pressurized, supplied to a spray nozzle 10 and let fall down as fine drops onto the free surface of the molten salt 3. The falling-down fine drops come in direct contact with the high-temperature molten salt on the surface of the molten salt 3, so that they absorb evaporation heat on said surface and vaporize. Consequently, the molten salt contained in the fine drops is recovered in the cell, while formed steam is sucked through an exhaust pipe 11 by a suction means 12 and discharged outside the system.
