摘要： A hybrid light source comprises a discrete-spectrum lamp (for example, a fluorescent lamp) and a continuous-spectrum lamp (for example, a halogen lamp). A control circuit individually controls the amount of power delivered to the discrete-spectrum lamp and the continuous-spectrum lamp in response to a phase-controlled voltage generated by a connected dimmer switch, such that a total light output of the hybrid light source ranges throughout a dimming range. The discrete-spectrum lamp is turned off and the continuous-spectrum lamp produces all of the total light intensity of the hybrid light source when the total light intensity is below a transition intensity. The continuous-spectrum lamp is driven by a continuous-spectrum lamp drive circuit, which is operable to conduct a charging current of a power supply of the dimmer switch and to provide a path for enough current to flow through the hybrid light source, such that the magnitude of the current exceeds rated latching and holding currents of a thyristor of the dimmer.

摘要： A motor-operated panel system includes a panel assembly (30) consisting of an elongated flexible web (40) formed of a plurality of different panels (85, 86, 87, 88) connected end-to-end for controlling the transmission of light, heat or air through a window (75) and/or for producing different decorative scenes within a room. The panel assembly (30) is wound on substantially identical elongated and spacedly arranged hollow rollers (80, 81) including an upper roller (80) which contains a reversible motor (215), gear train (230,231,232), magnetic brake (220,221) and a position sensor (310) totally within the interior of the upper hollow roller (80). The position sensor (310) serves to sense the absolute rotational position of the upper roller (80). The lower roller (81) contains a torsional spring (160) which is prewound to exert a pulling torque on the panel assembly (30), which torque is normally resisted by the magnetic brake (220,221) in the upper roller (80). The panel system is controlled remotely from a panel control (31,32) which may be wall mounted, communicating with the panel system via a data bus. Several panel systems may be controlled from a single panel control (31, 32) and/or any panel system may be operable from more than one panel control (31, 32).

摘要： A multiple location system is provided for controlling application of alternating-current power to a load. The system employs a triac as a power carrying device, the gate control circuit for which has been modified to include auxiliary switching. Potentiometers are disposed at various different locations for determining, responsively to the setting or positioning of an actuator, such as the slide control of a linear potentiometer, the magnitude of respective control signals substantially immediately upon setting of the actuator. The signals are mutually exclusively applied to control the triac in accordance with which of the actuators is being set. Alternatively, the control signals can be applied in accordance with which one of a series of take-command switches (one for each location) was last operated. In either case, only two wires are necessary to connect the different locations to one another. In one embodiment, the actuator controls a pair of momentary-close switches associated therewith (e.g. such as a mechanical push button switch spring loaded so as to relax except when under pressure), the switch being ganged for alternative operation such that a first of the push buttons closes and the second remains open during movement of the potentiometer control slider in one direction, the first remaining open and the second being closed during motion of the slider in the other direction. The system includes a magnetic latching relay for conferring dimming control on that potentiometer control in which closure of one of the momentary-close switches has last occurred.

摘要： An indicator lamp indicates the status of an electrically-powered load control system by providing dim light when the load power is off and a brighter light when the load power is on. In another embodiment, the lamp not only provides two levels of light to indicate whether or not power is on, but also provides a repetitive flash when power to the system is being controlled by remote control. The indicator lamp can also indicate a break in the load circuit. Depending on the embodiment, the break can cause the lamp to be either off or flashing, regardless of the position of the load power switch. Alternatively, a break in the load circuit can cause the lamp to provide substantially no light if the load power switch is in the "off" position, with full light in the "on" position.
