摘要： A method of performing a reverse-link packet data service in a communication system is provided, by which a reverse packet data service is available at a high data rate in the reverse link supporting a variable data rate without additional Walsh code allocation. The method includes steps of transmitting a plurality of traffic packet frames on a first channel, each traffic packet frame having a data rate; transmitting a plurality of main pilots on a second channel; transmitting a plurality of auxiliary pilots on a third channel, each auxiliary pilot corresponding to one traffic packet frame; and transmitting data rate information on a fourth channel, the data rate information indicating the respective data rates of the traffic packet frames, wherein the transmissions on the third and fourth channels are alternated by a time division of one Walsh code. A communication system adopting the method includes a base station for transmitting a plurality of reverse activity bits for a plurality of traffic packet frames to at least one mobile terminal, each traffic packet frame having a data rate, the at least one mobile terminal determining a plurality of reverse rate indicators of the respective data rates of the traffic packet frames using the corresponding reverse activity bits, each reverse rate indicator determining the data rate of the next traffic packet frame.

摘要： An initial error detection code is calculated for information which is to be transmitted in a frame across a first channel of a wireless communication network using CDMA. In one embodiment the information may include a Walsh Code Allocation (WCA) identifier for a second channel. The error detection code is then combined with one or more identifiers, such as a terminal identifier for the terminal which is to receive the frame or/and a WCA identifier for the second channel if it was not already expressly included in the information to be transmitted. This produces a new error detection code. This method allows additional information (i.e. the identifiers) to be implicitly transmitted, without adding overhead. Preferably the frame is transmitted on a PDCCH control channel. The error detection codes may be generated using CRC. The combining operation may be performed using an Exclusive-OR operation, or by initialising CRC registers with identifier bits. Several different methods of generating the error codes are possible and the transmitter may select between or alternate between different methods.

摘要： A method of determining useable combinations of variables for transmitting a subpacket of an encoder packet in a communication system is disclosed. First, an arbitrary combination from a plurality of all combinations of transmission variables is selected based on a number of currently useable Walsh codes and channel environment. Next, an arbitrary MPR is determined based on a number of useable encoder packet bits, a number of useable slots, and the number of currently useable Walsh codes, all of which belong to the selected arbitrary combination transmission variables. Thereafter, a final MPR, which is the smallest one of MPR values of a MPR set that corresponds to the number of useable encoder packet bits and the number of useable slots, is determined, and a final number of Walsh codes is calculated based on the number of useable encoder packet bits, the number of useable slots, and the determined final MPR. Finally, one or more useable combinations of variables are determined based on the final number of Walsh codes.
