    • An input device is provided. The input device has a storage unit, a microcontroller, and a plurality of input units for generating operational inputs. The storage unit is for storing information, typically private, sensitive files/documents. Furthermore, when locked, the storage unit is not allowable for access. The microcontroller includes a password comparing module and an unlocking module. The password comparing module is for comparing the operational inputs from the input units with a predetermined password, and generating an unlock signal if the operational inputs match the predetermined password. The unlocking module is electrically connected to the password comparing module, and is configured for unlocking the storage unit in response to the unlock signal, thereby enabling a computer system connected thereto to access the storage unit. Related methods are also provided.

    • An electronic device and method providing a touch-based interface for a display control is provided. The electronic device includes a display, and a processing unit. The display includes a screen installed with a cursor thereon and a frame attached to the screen. The frame further has a first touch sensitive region and a second touch sensitive region for generating sensing signals in response to an input operation. Each sensing signal is assigned a coordinate for identification. The processing unit identifies the sensing signals according to the coordinates assigned therewith, controls a movement of the cursor displayed on the screen if the identified sensing signals from the first touch sensitive region, and controls a movement of pages displayed on the screen if the identified sensing signals from the second touch sensitive region. A related method is also provided.

    • An input device with a fingerprint recognizing mechanism is provided. The input device has a storage unit, a fingerprint input interface, and a microcontroller. The storage unit is for storing information, typically private, sensitive files/documents. Furthermore, the information is not allowable for access when the storage unit is in a locked state. The fingerprint input interface is for inputting fingerprint data of a fingerprint. The microcontroller includes a fingerprint identifying module and an unlocking module. The fingerprint identifying module compares the fingerprint data from the fingerprint input interface with predetermined fingerprint data, and generating an unlock signal if the fingerprint data match the predetermined fingerprint data. The unlocking module unlocks the storage unit in response to the unlock signal from the fingerprint identifying module, thereby enabling a computer system to access the information of the storage unit. A related method is also provided.

The computer system has a first operating system operated in a high power mode and a second operating system operated in a low power mode. The first operating system has a hard disk storing multimedia files and a central processing unit for running the first operating system.     • A touch sensing apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a sensor (13), a flip-flop (16), and a microcontroller unit (17). The sensor is connected to one of input of the flip-flop for receiving electricity signals from an object that touches the sensor. The MCU respectively supplies two AC signals at two outputs thereof to two inputs of the flip-flop. The flip-flop outputs a first type output signal at the output thereof when the sensor not being touched. When being touched, the sensor receives electricity signals from an object, and causes a delay of an AC signal to be inputted to the input of the flip-flop to which the sensor is connected, the delay of the AC signal to be inputted to the input of the flip-flop further causes the flip-flop to output a second type output signal at a output thereof. The MCU detects a change of the output signals of the flip-flop from the first type output signal to the second type output signal and accordingly identifies a touch on the sensor.
