摘要： An output value of neuron within an objective layer of a hierarchical neural network is computed. The data of the output value of neuron is stored in a memory only if the output value of neuron is greater than or equal to a predetermined value by referring to the computed output value of neuron within the objective layer. When the data of the output value of neuron on a former layer of objective layer is read from the memory, the data having a predetermined value is read, instead of the data of the output value of neuron not stored in the memory.

摘要： An image capturing apparatus includes an image input unit which photo-electrically converts an object image to generate an image signal, a status determination unit which determines an object status in an image generated by the image input unit, an automatic image capturing instruction unit which starts an automatic image capturing operation as an operation to automatically store the image generated by the image input unit in the first storage unit when the object status determined by the status determination unit satisfies a predetermined automatic image capturing condition, and a shooting control unit which automatically stores the image generated by the image input unit in the second storage unit when the object status does not satisfy the automatic image capturing condition even upon the lapse of a predetermined time after the automatic image capturing instruction unit designates the automatic image capturing operation.

摘要： In an image capturing apparatus, a video input unit (2) captures the image of an object and sequentially acquires image data associated with the image capturing, a model data memory (6) stores model data associated with the first feature quantity calculated from a feature point of the object in a model image, a principal object detection unit (3) calculates the second feature quantity from a feature point of the object in the acquired image data, a state change estimation unit (4) estimates, on the basis of the second feature quantity and the model data, the timing when the object satisfies a predetermined condition, and an image input processing control unit (7) stores the image data corresponding to the estimated timing in an image recording unit (5). This configuration makes the image capturing apparatus acquire an image in a more proper state without large-capacity memory.

Further, as two-dimensional data can be decomposed to one-dimensional bases, the problem of wiring for two-dimensional parallelizing in a convolution arithmetic unit can be solved. For this purpose, two-dimensional image data f(x,y) to be encoded is inputted, and one-dimensional adaptive bases X(x),Y(y) representing the two-dimensional image are obtained. Next, a reconstructed image is generated based on the one-dimensional adaptive bases, and the one-dimensional adaptive bases are corrected based on an error E between the reconstructed image and the input image. The correction is repeated until the error E is reduced.
