    • A data conversion apparatus etc. which inhibits octet/bit insertion to reduce a data transmission amount and improve a throughput in a section not requiring octet/bit insertion during communication based on PPP is provided. Further, a communication apparatus which reduces a control packet on a communication line is provided. When transmitting a data signal from DTE to DTE, octet/bit insertion is performed DTE to a data, and transmission is made. In a DCE, a data having a PPP frame configuration and being octet/bit-inserted is converted into a data having an improved PPP frame configuration and being not octet/bit inserted. In a gateway (NW), a data having the improved PPP frame configuration and being not octet/bit inserted is converted into a data having the PPP frame configuration and being octet/bit inserted. After the data conversion, the gateway transmits a signal including the converted data to DTE. In DTE, octet/bit deletion is performed as in the prior art.

    • A rotor core is provided with a plurality of slits extending in the rotation shaft direction, independently of openings. The first slit is arranged at the center of the magnetic pole of the rotor core to be capable of absorbing stress acting on an inner circumferential surface of each opening in a direction normal to a main surface of a permanent magnet. The second slit is arranged between the magnetic poles of the rotor core to be capable of absorbing stress acting in parallel with the main surface of the permanent magnet. Thus, the rotor core is prevented from deforming in a radial outward direction. Further, by forming the first and second slits each in a form not interfering the magnetic path of the magnetic flux by the stator passing inside the rotor core, the motor performance is ensured.

    • An electromagnetic actuating system having a valve member is provided. This system can improve a response of movement of the valve member while reducing power consumption of the system. The electromagnetic actuating system includes an armature which moves with the valve member, an electromagnet which attracts the armature in a direction of movement of the valve member by being supplied with a current, and a spring which presses the armature away from the electromagnet. A permanent magnet which can exert a magnetic attracting force between the armature and the electromagnet is provided. A current controller supplies a release current to the electromagnet so that magnetic flux is generated in a direction opposite to a direction of magnetic flux generated by the permanent magnet when the armature is released from the electromagnet. The valve member functions as an intake valve or an exhaust valve of an internal combustion engine, and the current controller controls an amount of the release current in accordance with an operating state of the internal combustion engine.
