    • An appropriate selection is controlled for selecting an extension transmitting/receiving server device for transmitting or receiving user data, to be transmitted or received between mobile station devices, to or from a radio base station device by employing extension transmission or reception of data, in a radio access network relaying data between a core network having a mobile switch station and the mobile station devices. While referring to a management table for managing statuses of extension transmitting/receiving server devices 30a to 30c, at least one of the extension transmitting/receiving server devices 30a to 30c is selected. The user data transmitted or received between mobile station devices through the selected extension transmitting/receiving server device is transmitted. This allows the control of an appropriate selection from the extension transmitting/receiving server devices.

    • A steel-made rolling-contact shaft with a joint claw improved in both the rolling contact fatigue life at the raceway and the static fracture strength (torsional strength) at the claw includes a joint claw at one end, and has a portion of the outer cylindrical surface functioning as a raceway of a needle roller qualified as a rolling element of a needle bearing.     • The object is to efficiently subject steel retainers of needle roller bearings to heat treatment in a short period of time even in small-lot production using compact treatment facilities, thereby producing retainers having improved resistance to wear and surface damage and high in fatigue strength and fracture strength as a whole. The steel retainer 3, which retains needle rollers 2, is formed from a steel plate containing 0.15 to 1.10% by mass of carbon. After forming, the steel plate is subjected to induction heat treatment comprising induction hardening and induction tempering. Such heat treatment can be carried out efficiently in a short period of time, using compact treatment facilities, even in small-lot production. The retainer 3 thus formed is sufficiently resistant to wear and surface damage, and is high in fatigue strength and fracture strength as a whole.
