摘要： A process for making a resin emulsion suitable for use in forming toner particles includes melt mixing a resin possessing acid groups at a temperature higher than the glass transition temperature of the resin, optionally adding a surfactant before, prior to, during, or after melt mixing the resin, and adding a basic neutralization agent and water to the resin to form an emulsion. In embodiments, the resin emulsion thus produced may be utilized to form a toner.

摘要： A toner having an amorphous resin, a crystalline resin, and a colorant, wherein the crystalline resin has a melting temperature of at least 70° C. and a recrystallization point of at least 47° C. exhibits improved document offset properties and improved heat cohesion. Annealing the toner further improves the heat cohesion and morphology of the toner.

The sulfonated polyester resin may be an alkali metal sulfonated polyester resin, wherein the alkali metal may be sodium and/or lithium. The toner may be formed in an emulsion aggregation process in which an alkali (II) metal salt such as a zinc salt and/or a calcium salt is used as an aggregating agent.

摘要： Toner particles comprise resin, wax and optionally colorants, and the wax is substantially excluded from the interior core of the toner particles. Processes for preparing such toner particles comprise providing an aqueous dispersion of resin particles and optionally colorants, mixing the aqueous dispersion in presence of a coagulant, aggregating to form particles, coalescing to form fused particles, and removing the fused particles from the aqueous dispersion. Wax dispersions can be added either after mixing or during aggregation, so that wax is excluded from the core of the toner particles.

摘要： A preparation method of carbon modified filler is provided. The method is: putting the fillers into the reaction zone of a reactor, starting the first heating-up to 400-500° C. under the protective atmosphere at first, then introducing hydrogen after the heating-up; starting the second heating-up to 600-1200° C. after introducing hydrogen and simultaneously introducing the mixture of hydrogen and carbon source gas, keeping at the terminal temperature for 0.1-5 hours, introducing nitrogen and stopping heating after the reaction, cooling, and then getting the carbon modified filler. The above method can obtain a friction material with good mechanical properties, excellent friction and wear performances, stable friction coefficient at high temperature, good braking force and no heat recession.

The resins utilized to form the core, the shell, or both, may be contacted with a water soluble initiator. The resin, in embodiments present in the shell, cross-links at a temperature near the temperature for coalescence, and may prevent a crystalline resin in the core from migrating to the toner surface.
