摘要： A toner for electrostatic latent image development, in which the image quality is fine, toner blister would not occur, and furthermore, the image quality which can fulfill customer's satisfaction can be obtained regardless of the temperature humidity environment in the image forming. The toner for electrostatic latent image development is made by agglomeration of resin particles and colorant particles in an aqueous medium. The acid value of the toner is less than 20 mgKOH/g, and the hydroxyl value of the toner is 7 to 57 mgKOH/g.

摘要： A continuous rotary actuator using a shape memory alloy has a simple structure, is small and light-weight, and has a high torque, which can lock the actuator against rotation during periods when the actuator is not energized. The continuous rotary actuator includes an inner drum rotating around an axis constituted by a rotating shaft. The inner drum is provided in an outer cylinder, wherein first and second shape memory alloy torsion springs, which are wound in opposite directions and which are unwound to recoil when electrically heated, are fixed between the outer cylinder and the inner drum, and wherein switching means for alternately switching the electrical heating according to the rotation angle of the inner drum are connected to the first and second shape memory alloy torsion springs.

摘要： The invention pertains to a method and apparatus for treating blood. If pressure constraints occur during the execution of blood treatment, the pump flow rates are rapidly decelerated to remove the pressure constraints so that the treating operation will restore the normal state as quickly as possible. After the pressure constraints have been removed, the pump flow rates are restored at a preset acceleration without causing any excessive pressure buildup due to an abruptly increased load. If the pump flow rates immediately after the start of operation of the processor are increased through two stages of acceleration, the target flow rates can be rapidly reached without exerting any abrupt load on the processor and, hence, without causing an excessive pressure buildup.

摘要： In the image data processing of the digital copying machine (M), number of blocks Bn of image data in auxiliary scanning direction is set to the number of expanders (30, 31) Dn times a natural number N (N.times.Dn). This configuration makes it possible to utilize the (30, 31) expanders efficiently regardless of whether the image is to be rotated by 90.degree. or not when expanding compressed image data and printing the image. Thus such a situation that the expanders (30, 31) are forced to suspend the expanding operation does not occur, making it possible to start printing earlier and improve the printing speed. In the image reader 1 of the digital copying machine (M), when dividing image data corresponding to original document into a plurality of blocks and compressing the image data in the unit of block, length of the original document in the auxiliary scanning direction is estimated from width of the original document (size in principal scanning direction). Then by setting the partition of divided blocks based on the estimated document length, the image data can be compressed without waiting for the end of image data input for each block, not doing over the compression process even when the end of the original document is detected, thereby maximizing the image data compressing speed.

The image determining unit can determine the presence or absence of an image on one or more originals while the original is located at a reading position and prior to a copy being produced thereof.
