The system includes a controller, a request customization module, a search module and a presentation module. The controller receives data indicating an initiation of a search request from a user, data describing a form selected by the user, data describing a graphic form field specified by the user in the form and data describing a region of interest specified by the user in the graphic form field. The request customization module customizes the search request using the region of interest. The search module performs a form search on a collection of form data using the search request to determine one or more matching forms that each include at least one mark satisfying the region of interest. The presentation module provides the one or more matching forms to the user.

A memory includes a waveform table and a transition matrix including multiple pixels, each representing a pixel of the electronic paper display. A page transition display system is coupled to the memory and identifies waveforms from the waveform table associated with multiple transition matrix pixels by processing multiple transition matrix pixels in parallel. For example, the page transition display system loads multiple transition matrix pixels into a register and accesses the waveform table using the contents of the register. Using the identified waveforms, the page transition display system generates control signals used to modify the electronic paper device.

摘要： A handheld portable printer includes members and a handle that are joined together to form a generally O-shaped device. The members provide a rigid and strong structure and an area for housing a projector to project an image on the print surface of the image to be printed. The bottom member houses a pair of absolute position sensors spaced apart and aligned upon the longitudinal axis on the bottom of the handheld portable printer. A controller is associated with the absolute position sensors to produce precise position information. The controller uses the precise position information to control the projection of the image to be printed and the printing of pixels by the print head. In one embodiment, the print head is controlled such that each pixel is printed at least twice. The present invention also includes a number of novel methods including: a method for printing an image with a handheld printer, a method for projecting an image to be printed, and a method for registering a location of a printer and portions of a printed image.

摘要： A method and apparatus is described for segmenting an image, for adaptively scaling an image, and for automatically scaling and cropping an image based on codestream headers data. In one embodiment, a file that can provide a header that contains multi-scale entropy distribution information on blocks of an image is received. For each block, the block is assigned to a scale from a set of scales that maximizes a cost function. The cost function is a product of a total likelihood and a prior. The total likelihood is a product of likelihoods of the blocks. The image is segmented by grouping together blocks that have been assigned equivalent scales. In one embodiment, the file represents an image in JPEG 2000 format.

In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a determine pass logic, selection logic, next coefficient logic and control. The determine pass logic has inputs coupled to receive significance state information for a region, a pass bit for each coefficient in a subset of the region, and a current pass indication. In response to these inputs, the determine pass logic generates pass indications to indicate a pass for each coefficient in the subset of the region. The selection logic has inputs coupled to signals output from the determine pass logic and the current pass indication and, in response to these inputs, generates output indications associated with one pass of either the significance propagation, refinement, and cleanup passes. The next coefficient logic is coupled to the selection logic and indicates the next coefficient in the current pass in response to the output indications from selection logic. The control is coupled to receive the output indicating the next coefficient in the one pass and codes coefficients in the significance propagation, refinement and cleanup passes. The control also codes the next coefficient in either the significance propagation, refinement and cleanup passes as indicated by the next coefficient logic.
