Further, the invention contemplates a polymer, a polymer composition and products therefrom, which include a functional group from the reaction product of an amine and an organolithium compound. The resulting polymers may be terminated with a terminating, coupling or linking agent, which may provide the polymer with a multifunctionality.

摘要： A styrene-butadiene copolymer having excellent low hysteresis loss characteristic, wet skid resistance, fracture characteristics, and abrasion resistance and a rubber composition comprising the copolymer are provided. The styrene-butadiene copolymer has a total styrene content in the range of 33 to 42 % by weight of the styrene-butadiene copolymer; a content of styrene sequences having 4 to 20 styrene units in the range of 40 to 65 % by weight of the total styrene content, as obtained by measurements by NMR and GPC; a content of styrene sequences having more than 20 styrene units in the range of 5 % by weight or less of the total styrene content, as obtained by measurement by GPC; a content of vinyl unit in the range of 30 % by mol or less of a butadiene part of the styrene-butadiene copolymer; a sum of the total styrene value and 1/2 of the content of vinyl units in the range of 46 to 52 %; and an inner or end structure having, for example, tin-carbon bond. The copolymer and the rubber composition are used for tire treads and the like.

摘要： A process for polymerizing 1,3-butadiene into a low molecular weight high-cis polybutadiene is described using a catalyst system comprising: (a) a neodymium-containing compound, (b) an aluminoxane or a trialkyl aluminum compound, (c) an organoaluminum hydride, and (d) a halogen source. A blend of a high molecular weight high-cis polybutadiene and the low molecular weight high-cis polybutadiene is also disclosed for use in pneumatic tire treads. Desirably both the high and the low molecular weight polymers have high cis contents, with the low molecular weight polymer being at least 70 percent cis and the high molecular weight polymer being at least 92 percent cis. Desirably both polymers are made with a neodymium catalyst system. The blends provide a balance of properties including good snow traction, wet traction, and rolling resistance while providing a balance of good physical properties including tension at break, modulus etc.
